A 4 generally doesn't push but tries to string you along a bit and trap you. He probably has a weaker ace or pockets. Of course this is 25NL and you see all sorts of stuff, but I call these all night the push means a weaker hand or draw, this recent hand springs to mind (lost but would call them all night also this guy was a shorty so didn't take much balls)....
