1st hand: standard. Takes a down a cheap flop against CO's Ace high.

2nd: I like it, I see opp turning over KQ here.

3rd: Not sure if it's a good call on the river. I would fire a second barrel on the turn to see if he really caught a piece of the flop. As played, you could be up against a wide variety of hands including T8/86 that hit a pair.

Hand 1: Perfect. I do this all the time against pfrs and at the $50 tables nobody plays back w/o a hand, so I safely fold to a raise.

Hand 2: Fine. Sometimes I'll check/call the river but that's weak, it should be a bet and fold to a raise if you know he needs a flush to raise.

Hand 3: I fold the river. Too many hands just got there or had you before. For example if I was the BB I could have lots with my flop call (J8, JT, T8, any pair, any 7, any 9 and I think that's just to many hands you're behind here. Against a range of hands that would check/call the flop, bet the river I don't think you're going to win 1 in ~3.7 times that you need to break even.

Disclaimor, math may be bad but it's close me thinks.

i had the guy in hand three on missed overs and I think those occur more than 1:3.7 times.

I agree. If you think he bluffs with overs then call but I think it's a fold against most of the "passive" players at the $50 tables. Against an unknown I just fold.

There are some players who will bet the river 100% of the time if you bet the flop and check behind on the turn. I love playing against these guys.

1) I don't do this against all opponents, but against quite a few.

2) Standard.

3) What's wrong with a turn bet here? Or are we trying to pick off a bluff on the river? What if it's a queen and he makes the same bet?

I think there are a few good things about the check:

1. We are emotionally checked-out of the hand. May as well keep the pot small while we are unsure to win.

2. If we are up against a passively played monster, then we just got infinite pot odds to draw to our 22:1. Then when we miss, and he throws out either a small value bet or a huge overbet on the end, then we can be sure we're beat and dump for minimal loss.

3. We induce a bluff on the river from a missed hand if another blank falls. The pot sized bet on the end is what gave it away for me. Also I figured a strong hand would have bet out on the turn, (at least if I am up against a smart opponent, eh doubtful) because there were straight and flush draws on the board. I figured this statistically was a bluff more often than not so I went with it.
