PFR hits top set. How do I maximise value?

This is a situation that comes up alot. He bets into me but its pretty small. Im thinking its a probe bet from a J, or its someone trying to draw cheap. Reraise or call?

Range of hands...6x, 9x, QT, 78, 66, 99, AA - TT, Jx (not nearly as likely), missed overs KQ - AK, 77, 88, other pockets.

Break that down...
Hands that you aren't getting much more out of: 6x, 9x, low pockets 77, 88, TT, etc. - but these are probably best slow-played.

Hands that you may eventually scare off, but that will probably at least call a reraise Jx, QQ, KK, will depend on the player how far they will go with it. There's probably no need to slowplay against those hands, though you could do it.

Hands that you will stack - 66, 99, AA (probably).

Hands that may stack you - 78, QT, KQ (with a luckbox).

There are certainly more 'available' hands that you should slowplay to max value (which may be $0 more)...but slowplaying always seems to bite one in the ass at the worst time.
The other problem with slow-playing is the likelihood that an overcard falls on the turn and kills your action, or a straight-completing card falls and slows you down.
So screw it - just reraise 2 1/2 - 3x and rep an overpair...if you're lucky you're up against AA-QQ, 66, 99 and win a bundle.
Owise you get a fold and cry that you couldn't get more out of a fantastic hand. But in that case it's doubful that you were getting much more out of them anyway.

Also - playing optimally here is probably read-dependent, as usual, since you can certainly slowplay-lightplay certain opponents and drag more out of their weaker hands, and you could possibly overplay other opponents.

In my (limited) experience 6x, 9x and missed medium pocket pairs tend to either check/call or check/fold, not bet out but I suppose they could be there. If he bets a little more im inclined to just call, but I really dont like giving cheap cards away when there are so many turn cards that can either draw out on me or kill my action. I almost always reraise these and they almost always fold.

Oh I totally agree about 6x and 9x - just plopping down hand ranges, the order was nothing in particular, and yea they're not turing up 6x/9x here much. I would expect a min bet or 50c or some garbage from a 6x/9x type hand anyway...so that's very unlikely what they have.

And on the reraise...good for you - some days you get paid with these hands and you cheer, and some days you don't and you fart.
