Standard Line w/ 66?

Villain is not a complete idiot and has the intellect to fold when he is beat. Is this standard against such a villain?

I don't think buying in short is necessarily an indication that someone is an idiot. Sometimes on tighter tables i buy in short and cut off my opponents' implied odds to call and it makes certain opponents not mind playing with you on a marginal hand. I almost never do this though, but I'm just saying that I don't think buying in short automatically = complete donk.

I think he had lost down to that amount. Either way he was kind of an idiot, just not complete, and I had seen him fold before (unlike soooo many others).

I figured this possibility since it reeks of a c-bet when he folds the turn.. but since OP said "(opp) has the intellect to fold when he is beat" made me think he wanted to go for a bluff? Maybe misread that.

Weird line. So he got a gut shot, couple of more outs on his K (and his J, but he probably didn't count those).. he tried to bluff having the flush after the turn, you didn't buy it, tried another bluff on the river which only made you commit to 1/5 so wasn't very convincing and you called it.

Hm, sounds about right?
