Hm, either he has the K (AK or KQ probably then) or QQ, in which case you're digging your grave if you raise on the river.. or he doesn't have AK/KQ/QQ and he'll fold to any raise since the 4 could not possibly have improved his hand. So checking really is best here imho.

Btw I pegged him at AQ before I looked down to see I was right.. would seem like the only hand you had beat that would call that flop reraise and still stick in there after those raises. He was probably swayed to call the turn bet because of his 4 extra outs that would give him a straight.

Which, might I add, I don't find very smart.. because from his perspective he could be expecting you to hold an A or a Q with a fair chance at that, which kills some of his other outs. Or maybe someone can explain what prompted him to call with AQ there? I mean, all he did was check/call, he can't expect to win with A high?..

there's $20+ in the pot on the flop and you bet $8. So, were you trying to make it look like a monster and get extra $$ from him? If you were trying to push him off the pot or pay for his draws, then you failed big time.

hes bad

id bet at least 15 on the flop. bet again on the turn if he checks. then check behind the river

If I'm going to flip the spew bit here, I make it $15 pre-flop and drop another $20 on the flop.

On the turn there isn't much other than AQ that you're ahead of.

Your line is pretty gay, but pretty typical of that game. Min-re-raise pre-flop because you're too chicken shit to really drop the hammer without Aces/Kings, then weak bet the flop because you can't make up your fucking mind between checking and laying a real bet. Then after being shown weakness, turn it up a notch when you're not beating much of anything anyway.

either that or you have to be willing to play big pots without the nuts but know you can force a fold.
This is why 100nl is such an easy place to make money with the right adaption of play.

Id have prob called preflop, rather than make it 15 but u can do that.
As played Flop is an easy bet 2/3rds pot. If opp goes fishing with AQ then turn is tough, but id rather bet. Opp shouldnt call a proper reraise with AQ anyway but then you didnt do that....
