Should this re raise have told me something?

This was hand 3 of the night. Nice start. Re raise 1 dollar. A K sound right to you ? maybe Q Q , K K. Caught me slippin I guess. Does anyone here re raise a buck with Aces? I mean Ive see some pretty donkish betting with aces.. Raise .56, re raise... 1.82 ... Not a good way to start the night, this is standard all day long though right?

it is possible to lay this down

but not very. This is AK a good bit. I am inclined to believe you made a profitable call, statistically demographically speaking.

Villain has to have a PFR% of at most 1.5 for me to lay this down.

I can say this much... Iam glad we both just gotem in on the flop... Had we played the hand out.. I may have put him on A Q which would have = disaster for me.. Either or, ---------- just one of those hands; hard to let a set go in this game on a flop like that.

and people minraise aces all the time. the great part of that is when the flop has the ten but not the ace and they push anyway

I just love when that happens.

set under set is by far the most tragic event that occurs for me in a nl cash game (i hate it even more than bad beats)

And since I play 8 tables and long sessions, I can generally expect one every damn day.

I dunno why he bet so much on the flop... The only hands that would call would be 1010, 88, and maybe A10/A8.

I would lead out the flop, but I am going broke here.

The reason I say to lead out is because it confuses people when you don't "check to the preflop raiser" and he could look at his AK (which is possible here) and say "wtf you're betting into me?" RAISE. I think if you bet into this flop you will get paid more often with a hand like A10-AK rather than check raising, which I am assuming was your intention.

1 a day like vitamins? Yeah it does suck.. Good thing is, I reloaded and took my chips back later in my session. No biggie.. I dont tilt on hands like this- Its gonna happen to all of us especially playing 100's of hands at a time. The thing with multitabling is you see so many hands and so much odd shit.

Iam almost considering switching 10 10 - KK up a little. Any smart decent player will probably re raise w/ A A , and then if they get re raised they will usually push over. With that said, whats wrong with a little re raising the re raiser to see whats up? I have also switched up some plays like limping a small PP and then when someone raises a buck or .50 cents I re raise them. It really confuses my opponent. I can only do this with 1 opponent for it to work.

I call this all day long unless I have 100+ hands on villan and he is very tight. Even then in the heat of battle I probably still call. It is a rediculous overbet tho, if he always does this he musn't be making the most of his aces!

I also bet at him about 2/3 pot as if I have top pair, not that it really matters in this case.

At 25NL??? I've seen plenty of stupid shit at that level. I've seen A3 do this exact same thing. Reraise preflop and then push the A flop. Without some read I call this all day and say nh

Sometimes freak things happen where the opponent seems like a genius of deep layered thinking, but in reality he accidentally tapped the oil with his shotgun like Jed Clampett.

Generally what I'm saying is sometimes you have no choice but to call given the texture of the overall metagame (worse hands than yours often playing this way). Since calling this is profitable for you longterm, you say GG to the lucky douche who did the wrong thing at the right time.

I think you'd have to be an idiot to lay this down. You'll be losing out on so much money in the long run..

Life is good, tyring to get used to the difference between ring games and SNG's (and looking forward to going to Vegas in June).

I do make notes on moron's like that, but don't search them out when I play. There are plenty of fish to go around.
