I am new to short handed 6 max nl holdem and am curious what the VPip/ Agression Factor should be. I am currently running 30/15. Just what I seen today 6max seems to be a lot easier than full ring. All in hands can be OP++ as compared to 10 max (generally speaking). I am a winning player at full ring and have a winrate of 4BB/100 at 50nl and 7BB/100 at 25nl. Tried to move to 100nl full ring but that isn't working out right now.

Well, by aggression factor I assume you mean preflop raise percentage. At least that's what most people on here mean when they post x/y. Your stats are not bad, but you may want to reduce x and increase y.
It all depends on table factors. I had two tables open tonight. One my VP$IP was close to 50 because the tightwads just kept folding to my raises and my cbets. On the other I was one of the tightest players at the table. I profited well on both.
Anyway, play some more and post some hands and everyone here is cool. I would play at 50NL or less until you can find your game. I experiment alot and I drop many buyins in the process. But I have a generous bankroll that allows me to do so without dropping down. I earned that bankroll by playing full ring for a while and moving up stakes when I had 25-30+ buyins for each level. It's tough to move up a level and switch to shorthanded. Many people who transition find it to be very simple at first and do well. Then they get a little ahead of themselves and blow through the profits and then some. Others shortly went back to the comforts of full ring after they couldn't take the variance.

30/15 means that you are in too many pots and not the aggressor enough in the pots that you are in. A good friend of mine runs at 40/20 at 200nl 6 max on party but he has great postflop skills and is very aware of his table image as well as his opponents mind-states. This is key in order to be in so many pots that you be a great postflop decision maker. I'm at about 20/14 when I play, but my AF is around 2.9 (including PF numbers) which seperates me from most TAG players, I am just a lot more aggressive postflop than they are.
Ding! IMO this is what 6-max is all about adapting to a table to maximise your $$! Looking at my PT stats my highest VP$IP is 75.93 over a 55 hand session at a table my lowest is 11.36 over 44 hands (i musta just been set camping against maniacs :cool: ) AVERAGE is 35.63 over 26,579 hands all 6 max.Quote:

have found that my successful sessions tend to have a ratio of preflop raised to preflop called hands at least 2:1 (i.e. raising at least 66% of the time when you make it to the flop). accordingly, this makes having a really high VPIP percentage difficult to maintain until you develop some good 6max post flop skills. that will come with time. you're probably better off avoiding 35%+ VPIP until you're more comfortable post flop, if you can. of course tables dictate that a lot, so don't go to a tight ass table and not raise just because you're over 35%.

he's a baller and he's right around 25%. by decreasing his VPIP he can enter more pots as the aggressor more often, and that is a good thing.
r8ed, agression factor is another stat used by pokertracker, and if you ever go to 2p2 and post, they usually give stats in the x/y/z format (vpip/pfr/af).
(raise % + bet %) / (call %) = agression factor
I'm aware of that, but not many people mention it on here, especially when talking x/y. In PT, you can choose to inlcude/exclude preflop in the aggression factor too which will skew the results.
