KQo out of position 100NL 6max

First post, so go easy on me :D

I'm still finding my feet at No Limit, but here was a big one where I rivered the nuts. How was my play up to that point though?

MP and Button both seemed to be loose players and poor overall, and I hoped to either steal the pot preflop, or at least narrow it down to just a single player.

Postflop the trickiest bit seems to be the turn. I guess I should discount the Ad and 9d, but should I also reckon on the amount I'll be able to extract off him if I hit my straight? Should I even check here, or just fire another barrel. He's called a pretty sizeable bet already. Comments?

With two loose callers I'm not crazy about raising weakish hands OOP. In position, sure.

Post-flop looks fine. I would consider pushing the flop after the all-in and call... button looks to be weak/drawing and you probably have a lot of outs against many of his possible holdings, if he calls. But better to push him off the hand and increase your chance of winning what is already a healthy pot against a short stack who is very likely to have a very beatable hand. As played is fine too... you can't possibly fold the flop, and his turn bet is basically pricing you in at over 4:1 with some money behind.

edit - just occurred to me that the small all-in raise means you probably *can't* push. I'd play it exactly like that if that were the case. You missed on the turn - try to see a cheap or free river. Given the situation, checking there is fine.

Check looks okay on the turn as you are probably behind here and it looks doubtful that he will lay down his hand to a bet - also you might be able to take off a free card. He gives you good odds (4:1) to call.

welcome to FTR. i play full ring but....i'd probably check the flop and hope for a reasonable bet to call with my draw. as a general rule (i think this applies to 6-max as well) it's usually not a great idea to throw a continuation bet when you are OOP (out of position) vs. 2 opponents.

I wouldn't play this hand OOP against solid players, but these guys were so loose I felt it was a good opportunity.

As for continuation betting the flop I only do it with my made hands/good draws. Aren't you giving up too much info if you never c-bet a draw?

I play it pretty much the same. I would probably go the full $16 in one hit on the flop as I want to make it really clear I'm gambling here and will see a showdown against the short-buy.

The other option is to lead out for $8 and hope the short-buy pushes so you can re-raise all-in.

i cbet draws plenty - just not usually OOP vs more than 1 opponent.

It's a poster + short-buy and a button limper. If I pop this I can play shallow money poker with a GREAT shallow money hand. Axx boards give me crazy fold equity and I bet the ranch on any piece of the flop.

However, if I know the deep money limper is really live and is going to pay off way too much in an unraised pot, I would just complete. Quite often I have lots of early street fold equity here.

I've only recently switched from limit, and I've got to work on paying more attention to stack sizes!

Currently playing $100NL FR and 6max. Probably stay here for awhile until I get the swing of NL cash. I've played tons of SnG's and MTT's in the NL format, just not much cash.
