How do you determine the size of a reraise

This is 200 NL and the blinds are 1/2.

In retrospect I think I should have just gone all-in after the buttons raise on the flop, but my question is more about preflop.

I'll tell you now that UTG had 77, and seems to have played them very poorly, while the button had 33. Its his action that I'm more interested in.

When I raised preflop, I basically bet the pot. When it got to the button, it seems, following the 5-10 rule, he has a clear call, especially given that he has multiway action. Incidentally, should he be adding together both mine and UTG stacks when figuring out the 5-10 rule?

Does this mean I didn't re-raise enough? And should I generally be reraising enough to invalidate the 5-10 rule? In other words, when stacks are deep, should you reraise more than when stacks are not so deep? Or should I just ignore that and go with a fairly fixed reraise size?

How do you guys determine the size of a reraise preflop? What sort of things do you think about?

With just a raise I like to reraise 3.5x regardless of stack sizes, and with a raise and a call I reraise about 4.5x. Your hand looks pretty standard, I think I shove the flop though (or instafold if the button is a nit).

Shoving / Folding the flop is the best action. Don't continue the hand from there without making a flop decision.

Just go all-in on the flop. I don't see the point in just calling.

Just so I can be clear3.5 x whatever the raise was? And an extra 1 x for each additional caller? So in this case you'd have raised 5.5 x $6.50?

If somebody raised to $7 preflop I would reraise to about $24 total, $17 more to call. With a raise and a call I would reraise to about $31 or so, $24 more to call. If there is a raise and 2 callers, I might make it 5x, but I'm not going to make an enourmous overbet either. Use your best judgement to what you think will get the pot heads up or taken down unconstested.
