I thought i was ahead on turn, given this i shoulda pushed? But i felt it was either wa/wb, so better to just call because i would probably fold most hands i beat.

IMO this is a real real tricky spot. The turn lowered the value of AA a lot (if he's loose). I can understand check/calling might be more EV, but his bet is significant since you call and you're likely playing for stacks with a real marginal, but if you fold you only lose a little bit. If you think you're ahead, check/calling turn and river are probably higher EV then betting.

I think I'd get close to timing out and fold the turn as played and without a read, but maybe that's weak. I wonder what others will say on it.

So this is one rare spot where you would 3-bet? I remember just seeing a thread that had a somewhat consensus saying that people normally only should 3-bet with strong draws.

I reraise the flop and fold to a push.If he just calls I bet about 1/2 to 3/5 pot on turn and fold to a push there as well.Most sets will make their move either on a flop reraise or will look to trap on the turn.Calling down puts you on the defensive because you will pay him off everytime regardless,and if he's drawing he prices himself in while controlling you.

As played... I don't really see how you can call this on the river... What opponent holding do you actually beat? A :spade: 6 :spade: or some medium pair who puts you on the flush draw?

You didn't mention any read on this particular player... if he was a maniac.. I think this line might be alright.. but against almsot any other player I don't think so.

Being out of position blows.. So I'd hammer him with a 3-bet on the flop. If he then comes over the top, depending on my read, I might let it go...
