Hey.. I am buying a 60in TV in the states.. retails for like 3.5k.. retails for like 6k in canada.. I was wondering when I take it across the border will i ahve to pay any fees? what if i tell them it was a gift ?

I grew up in Windsor, a skip and a jump from Detroit and yes you have to pay a fee if you declare it when you cross the border. You can try to tell them it was a gift...but not sure how that will fly. Too bad it's a big tv and you can't hide it somewhere :( . Weird that the tv is THAT much cheaper in the States. And I thought our dollar was doing well.

tv's are insanely cheaper in the states than here.
If you can hide it in the trunk go for it, but if you get caught, ouch.
