Figured there should be a topic for this, I just pulled off what I think was my best bluff ever, representing a flush. Post all your best bluffs!

Gotta bluff the right people, if you know a guy can lay down a hand, and you know what he has, it can work.

your turn raise I really don't like. You're always getting called there.

he could've just been on a flush draw himself on the turn. However nice job taking down the pot anyway.

If u had the nut flush u would be unlikely to reraise the turn, if he has the As anyway he knows u dont have the nut flush. Luckily this time he can only call your allin on the river with either the flush or a good read and decent pair

All true, good insight TanO, didn't think of it that way before. But we all know that feeling of being at the table and just sensing the guy has sh*t. It WAS a risky play, and one I pretty much never make, but I was pretty proud of this one.

C'mon.. someone else has to have some bluffs up their sleeve.

Lower flushes raise that turn to get value and protect against redraw and nutflush also can raise it to build the pot if money is deep enough.

Nice representation, but you have to make it $5-$6 if you want to test him for stacks without being AI yourself. Basic pressure points.

Ok so im playing my Dad and my brother in the living room. He raises preflop with the :Kc::Tc: and the flop comes down :2h::Ts::7c: or something similar. He bets just over half pot and I call.

Turn is a brick completing the rainbow.

He thinks for a little while and bets into me again, another half pot bet.
I just call again, a little quicker this time.

The river is the J and he bets another half pot. I think for a little while and raise to 3x his bet.

He sits there for a good minute or so, probably thinking about the hours ive spent telling him tight is right and then finally he says "fine, you can take it with your stinking 2 pair".

I smile at him and show my pocket :4h::4c:

That's true, but doubling the original bet isn't enough to protect it, it doesnt say I'm gonna make you pay big to hit another spade.

yeah anyone can put chips in a pot and get lucky that the other person folds, but if you know its going to work before it does, thats a bluff....

Ok how about this bluff.

I put him on AK or AQ but it was possible he had AA or KK type hand.

I min raise his first bet, as play that drawers often use to get a free river card, repping the flush from the start. When he raises on the turn, it's pretty clear he either has an AK type hand and just wants to steal it (you never know with 10NL'ers..) or has AA/KK/QQ. I raise it up, again repping the flush and challenging him for his stack. Good? Any suggestions?

Well, it is good that you took down the pot but...

#1 - If villain had AK or AQ or any overcards (KQ, AJ) then i dont rly consider this a bluff. All it would be is you taking down the pot with the better hand. You got a great flop for 66 because it is unlikely SB or BB has an 8.

#2 - You definitely didnt push the SB off a hand like QQ/KK/AA. At NL10 nobody knows how to get off a hand like this. AA/KK/QQ would at least call your turn bet and see the river IMO.

#3 - Since you mentioned repping the flush i would like to disagree with this. Your limp/call pf and min raise on the flop screams pp. It looks more like an overpair (99-TT) or a set of twos.

#4 - The 10 on the turn isnt a scare card for u either since you put ur opps on two overcards. Dont get me wrong, you made a good read/play to realize ur opps had overcards and pushed him out.

BOTTOMLINE: This was not a bluff.

With three players on flop and u in position I would like to see a bigger raise here. The pot is relatively large for 10NL ($2.35) and since you feel your opps have overcards, why let them see a cheap turn? Raise it to at least $3 IMO so they wont see the turn and catch an overcard.

I pushed him off something as he said shit after i couldnt resist showing him (end of session). But i did sence weakness on his river bet and he obviously was scared of the flush.
