Just a general question

Ive been playing for a while and usually when i play live games or house games against my friends i make it to heads up against this one opponent i know, Sam. Sam is insanely tight, he lays down a lot of hands, and i guess in the past my problem has been scaring him out of too many hands when ive actually had good hands....is that just a part of the game, where i should continue to bet big so that he'll get frustrated and play shitty cards, or should i slow play my good hole cards and let him see a flop (last time i did that he broke me big)?

Be aggressive and run over him heads up, not just when you have good cards. When he plays back at you, fold.

If he is very tight then the idea is to grind him down by constantly stealing his blinds and taking pots on the flop.
Avoiding playing big pots unless u have big hands

Basically.. both. Kinda keep betting big, also with draws/inferior hands, because he'll fold most of the time anyway.. and on a rare occassion, when you have a great hand, slowplay it. Especially important if you play against this guy more often imo, because this way he can't really figure out what you have from how you bet.

Good advice.

I'm normally in the same situation, though I have been burned on a few occasions, just can't seem to let certain hands go, even though I know the guy is tight and will rarely re-raise without something strong.
