LAG won't fuck off after numerous bullets, then pushes.

Ok, Villain is LAG and can make some very erratic plays, although over the past two hours I've definitely got the better of him overall. I've been playing my normal LAG game, seeing alot of flops, making moves and showing some bluffs etc.

I have Villain covered, and I'm chipleader of the table.

Was this the right play or should I have called, he told me later that he had J7 but I told him to stop being a punk-ass motherfucker and play. I personally think he had a flush draw and got lucky.

Thoughts?

Good fold on the river- you pretty much beat only a bluff. Otherwise, I would definitely reraise my standard of close to pot sized (~3x his bet) pf, and bet more on the flop (prob between a 3/4 and full pot here). You have a good image and villain to get paid nicely with tptk as long as you don't give implied odds to flush draw by calling that river bet, and possibly fold if his line screams set/2pair to you.

pre-flop - Raise more, $5-6. Everyone is calling that, you accomplish nothing.
flop - Bet more, $5-6. Cut down implied odds
turn - OK
river - standard

This is probably my single biggest weakness in poker. When I have nice hands I don't like to raise too much pre-flop because I want action. Obviously it's risky and I really need to cut it out but it's hard. :(

I hate having AA/KK/QQ/AKs and laying down a big raise/re-raise only for villain to fold pre-flop. How do I conquer this leak? :cry:

By opening up your reraising range you accomplish this. Then they can't put you in AA/KK/QQ/AK when you pump it preflop.

I have been doing this to an extent, like if someone min-raises and I have position I'll often pump it up with marginal hands like JTs and 75s etc. and then try to knock them off after the flop, obviously if the flop comes something like AKT then I have to chill out a bit, but often I find my opponents c-betting on flops that can't logically have helped them most of the time, so I can lay down a big bet and knock them off.

But yeah I see where you're coming from, I need to start re-raising more I guess.

What do people see as a good re-raise, for example if a villain in middle position raises 4x the BB and it's folded round to me in the SB, I have AA, what should I re-raise to? 4x his bet again or something?

3x his bet is standard. Add your own flair for personal preference.

plz don't minreraise, that's the gayest thing in the world. it doesnt accomplish anything.

bet more on the flop, especially against a lag. the pot is about 8bucks and u let him chase for free, i'd normally bet 6-7$ but against a lag i'd bet 8 or just overbet it with 10.

It's not a big mistake to call this river. You're getting 2-1 on your money, so you only have to be ahead a little more than 1/3rd of the time. You need to consider odds more intensely against overrepresenting douchebags like myself. Think long term.

Stop and imagine the fold equity he had on you here from a meta standpoint, and realize how insignificant it really was. He'll think he's cool pushing made boards until you start claiming your 3rd.

Your forgot to add 'then call the river'

Stop trying to get action at these stakes, it'll come to you if you are aggressive and brazen in the post flop game. If you consistently outplay or just beat your opponents they will either
1. leave the table
2. make more and more -ev plays preflop against your game because they want to beat you just once.

I think you played it well but what were you planning on doing if the river bricks?
