Uhh. Don't fold this ever. JJ is very strong. It's even worth a 3rd bet in some cases. If you really feel you are beat PF, at least call for set value...you are being given odds here.

Maybe if you said he was rockier than life, like 5/1 or something silly, but even then I'd call and hope for a set.

If he's overbetting without even a limper then I'd have to see that as a sign of (some) weakness rather thasn strength, something like AQ or TT. I don't think you can fold this.

Why would a TAG overbet a marginal hand with no limpers? That seems -EV to me.

Usually a big bet preflop means he likes his hand, but it is vulnerable and he probably doesn't know how to play it. He is making sure no weak overcards get a cheap flop.

Couple of things... this is a 10xBB open raise. Very unusual at higher stakes, not sure about at 10NL. Effective stacks are only 10x the raise, so you're right at the edge of having implied odds to play for set value. So I don't think this is as big a no-brainer as everyone else. I still call for set value, but it's close. I wouldn't re-raise here just because the open-raise is so huge. I don't want to throw away 30BB and never even see a flop.
