When you read the rules it seems that you aren't allowed to tell anyone about what you have. Is that only online poker or where do you draw the line. Every table talker now and then talk about what they have (sometimes lying, sometimes not) - for instance when Sam Farah in WSOP 2005 or was it 2006 told Negreanu that he had a flush in spades before the hand was over.
I've heard it's not allowed, but maybe it's okey as long as you don't tell exactly which hole cards you're holding.
i thought you can tell whatever you want, as long as your involved in the hand. it´s not allowed to tell your holecards, when you folded, because your might give informations to one persons advantage.
If its HU AND youre involved in the hand then i dont see why you shouldnt be allowed to tell your hand.
It becomes a problem when people who arent involved in the hand start saying what they had. Then people can use that information to narrow down YOUR range.

It depends on the local or house rules. Some places it's ok, some places it isn't. In my weekly college game a friend of mine said he had 4 Aces. Everyone called the last 2 streets. He showed 4 Aces. I've found that when someone talks about their hand before the hand is over, more often than not, they have the hand (or close to it) that they say they do.
On a live limit game I was in a couple of months ago a woman in the small blind picked up pocket kings after everyone folded to her. She elected just to call, and the big blind checked. The flop came KKx, hitting the quad K jackpot for $3500. However, there had to be $10 in the pot for a jackpot to pay. The big blind told her that if she bet he would fold. She then told him she had pocket kings. The floor ruled that he couldn't call a bet from her after that, because calling when you know you are beat is a form of collusion. Without the extra $4 in the pot, she never got her jackpot.
Just remember, for anyone who plays live with jackpots, if this happens to you, just clear your throat very loudly and ask, "How much is in the pot?"
