Edit: I forgot to use the converter AGAIN. I would go back and change it, but it doesn't seem to work properly once I've gotten rid of some of the hand and I would have to add some of the action manually :( Sorry, I'll try to remember next time ... bah.

1) What should I have done on the turn? Check/fold the river?

4) No reliable read on the villian, couldn't decide whether he was retarded or decent. Was the turn raise bad considering he reraised preflop? What should I bet on the river?

courtiebee: You're not betting big with amazing hands nor are you calling big bets (from half stacks) with pretty good hands. I also doubt you're stealing small/mediumish pots. Is your plan to wait for the blinds to get big so you can push QTo pre-flop and win a big pot?

Lose a couple big pots?

*shrug* I attack weakness when I see it. Although there is always the issue of detecting legit weakness vs someone playing weak. Also, at this level so many players will play a weak hand weak but call all sorts of absurd bets.

Eh. First hand I actually did call, and he showed 37hh. Afterwards, I decided I shouldn't have called. Second hand, I didn't raise but I called. He had flopped a straight.

I don't ONLY post hands that I lose, I post a lot of hands that I end up winning, too. But obviously I reconsider hands that I lose more than those I win. So yeah, I'm results oriented. Which sucks.

When you can put someone on a wide range of hands they figure to call it all off with, you should stick it in there.

hand 1: easy fold on the river. I like how you played the turn. Pushing against a maniac and folding against a nit are both options. I don't think you're ever good on this river.

hand 2: seems ok.

hand 3: I'd call. TPTK = nuts, I don't care what anybody else tells you. Ok, I might be 3rd leveling you to a point, but sometimes it is true, and against an unknown with half a stack on a drawy board, it most certainly is.

hand 4: I can't say I like the goofy large preflop raise. Maybe with a legit big pair against a lot of maniacs I'd like it. I don't really see the point though to be honest, but maybe I'm off base. I don't really know what to think about the turn or river. Use your imagination. Half pot seems reasonable given how much weakness he has shown.

1.

Check-call the turn, generally check-call the river. As played, I'd fold the river without a read. From my experience, most of the time when they goes all in on that board has a flush. If he can do it with air, good for him.

2.

Check-call is probably best. Problem with a bet/fold line is that hands you best like AQ, 87, J8, might raise and you lose a lot of value if you fold incorrectly. So well played

3.

OMG what are we waiting for!? I'm super conservative with TPTK but even at higher stakes I instacall. Note: stack sizes + pot odds (2:1 odds - only have to win 33% of the time) + draw laden board + 25NL. If you have a read that villain is sensible/tightish then call the flop and let your position do the work

4.

Not mad on the turn raise. Calling seem like a good option. $5 on the river looks sensible.

There are 25nl games out there that you can destroy, literally.
The ban on US players might have reduced the number of sites that have large numbers of horrible players but from what i gathered you recently had a big br boost via an mtt win (at least i think) so i think you ought to try and find easier games than sitting in the nit-infested small stakes ring games at stars
Sure, it will make you a decent player, but nitting-it-up with every one else at stars when you have the br to play in bigger games doesnt seem right to me.
You could sit on bodog and probably slaughter 25nl 50nl and even 100nl within 2-3months IF that.
I dont think coming from SNG's you are going to be an awful ring game player if you know the basics of not to stack of with just tp etc etc so id get in a good game even if you feel your skill level is only average or just above average. Your skill will increase with experience no matter where you play, whether it be stars 25nl or bodog 25nl so i think playing games where you are likely to win more makes more sense IMO when you cant fill that skills-gap other than by playing hands and getting in the grind-time.
What bothers me most is that on lots of sites across the net playing 20nl/25nl is absolutly thoughtless: make a hand bet it, get all in and profit.
At stars we are actually discussing folding some really strong hands we shouldnt even think about folding until 100nl on many other sites.
Just my 2cents (and the reason i think small stakes players should not be playing on stars (f**k the software and other perks))

I think what's being said here is that you're probably good enough to beat higher stakes, but you're folding or even considering a fold way too often for 25NL. You have to make a hand and gambool against almost everyone at this level. If you know a certain player is solid that obviously changes, but don't get pushed off a strong non nut hand by just anyone.

Hand 4 - The pot is ~$8.5 on the turn. Your $3 raise will not get the villain to fold anything. Make it at least $5 or just call.

On the river the pot is $15. Why does everyone say bet $5? Why not bet $10? You think 25NL players will fold TT/JJ when faced with calling $10 into a $25 pot? This min-raise pre-flop, check flop, almost min-bet turn looks like AA/KK if villain is a retard.
