help me learn when to value bet...

villain is oop and slpp...but once he calls the bet on the flop, i wonder if 2nd pair mid kicker is good. i put him on a draw, but dont i have to respect the Kx, QJ-KQ when he calls? with a very small pfr, i think he open-limps unless he holds AQ+ and TT+.

when the river completes the draw, should i value bet if checked to? or did i do the right thing in respecting the K? against the villain, i am guessing there is not a lot of fold equity in this river...granted, if i get bet iinto small on the river, i am not folding here, either.

This is absolutely fine. Sometimes I check the flop behind instead and bet a blank turn. Depends on how much a calling station opponent is.

ive read a lot of your advice to others and cant help asking...

what is your AF? it must be high. i dont disagree with the advice here, but it seems you wouldnt fear firing a 3rd barrel into a pseudo-blank river, either?

i guess you are saying i left a bit of value on the table? or are you pushing the opponent off the pot with your turn bet? or are you just curious as to where you stand?

i think this is the answer i want to hear, and i'm glad to see there may not be shame in the way i played it.

I like a turn bet at this level. A lot of draws + worse hands call a turn bet, but fold to a river bet.

A lot of the value I get out of checking this turn to induce a bluff isn't there in your game.

at what level would you expect to start gaining value by "inducing"?...

...inducing bluffs....not labor (no value in that ;) )
