Damn, sucks that you don't have a job, but good luck with this. Question though, to actually go pro, how much money do you think you need to earn weekly/monthly to live?
Maybe for multitabling you should stick to 3 until you can get solid reads for that and then move up?
Anyway god luck to ya
"value betting a likely 2nd best hand on the river"
dont try to over correct this and start checking too much...once you start getting better at hand reading you see these spots to make thin value bets and your winrate starts going up
I'm not really going pro. I would need to be making $2k/month at the very least and I'm definitely not there yet.Quote:

I'm counting it as a life experiment.
GL sir. I check too much and lose value. A lot. Agreed with Gabe that it's gonna end up in your favor.
OT: Swiggidy sounds like something I heard in a Jay-Z song.
I will definitely keep this in mind. I think I was trying too hard with the value betting (after reading all the higher stakes posts). I was picking bad spots like 2nd pair, pp < top card, TPTK that I bet on flop and turn, then fire again on slightly scary river card.Quote:

I'm glad you started a blog.
The thought of serving somewhere makes me wanna puke too!
Wanna exchange HHs sometime? If you have any free time or any desire to do so. The people I'm paired with in the session reviews are never around ...
You're so nice courtieQuote:

Congrats on the Royal.
Its cool you got paid too.
Smart move leaving FT, I've had a few sites bonuses cost me more money than i could get back, chasing a bonus that wasn't clearing during a bad run of cards. I.E: At Ultimate bet, I busted $200 bucks and still have $31 in bonus left from my $10NL days.
Swig
How do you do those Hand/Profit graphs? Is that a PT thing?
Also, and this goes to Courtie too, if you wanna swap of HH's, PM me. I'm defo interested.
I'm using PokerOffice, but yes that's what it's from. If you have PokerTraker you can get a graphing tool.
You can get either for free if you don't already have one. PokerOffice comes with a built in graph, HUD, with PT those are add-ons.
I would be happy to swap/look over a HH.
You have a blog?!?!?!
*off to read*
Very insightful post. I'm sorry that I don't have any advice to give other than "hang in there". Being in the right place mentally is extremely important.
bump, new post

I would appreciate thoughts on:
1) mutli-tabling as an educational experiment
2) anything else that seems relevant :D
You were playing on Stars when you decided that 50NL isn't profitable anymore?
100NL is horrible for me. I'll play for a while and lose a lot of money at first and then spend the rest of the time making it back, or make money at first and then spend the rest of the time losing it. I haven't tried playing a 50NL session there for a while, but the occassional time I've sat down, I've found it way easier. Not that it's easy :( I think I'm just gonna leave Stars ...
Not that I've been playing cash games ...
Anyway, decided to just leave a post because I read your blog :-P
