Wow chargers choked big time.
I am really pumped for Colts vs Pats. If the colts lose, its the end though. We will officially be the Pats bitches.
Me: Let's put a pizza on this game.
Roommate: Sure, it won't even be close.

LETS GO PATS
That idiot on SD who intercepted that 4th down pass and fumbled it cost them the game haha.
quit kidding yourselves. The Pats are a sub par team at best and they luckboxed yet another playoff win. \
The Colts are going to win next week because:
a) its in Indy, and
2) because the pats have no secondary to speak of
Colts have best D of remaining teams. YOU HERD ME.
RU serious? Keep doubting the Pats, all they do is win.Quote:

Until they didn't that is.
A big part of what decides sports games isplayers making big plays or horrible mistakes that you just couldn't have predicted, and pure luck plays a pretty big role too. Anything can happen, I don't know how many times we have to see underdogs win before people figure that out. They probably won't ever figure it out I guess, that's what allows people to brag about 6 team parlays that are the "lock of the century" only to have 3 of those 6 teams lose, but that doesn't shake their faith in their ability to know for sure which team is going to win a game. Uncertainty is too complicated for a lot of people to wrap their minds around though, so they just stick their fingers in their ears and sing "LA LA LA Tom Brady 3 ringz Peyton Manning choker." Good luck with that.
Sorry for hijacking the thread, I'll join you guys in laughing at San Diego. While we're at it, let's vote on who was the biggest choker in that game. Here are the leading candidates:
Drayton Florence - Gave the Patriots an automatic first down (and allowed them to kick an eventual field goal) after the Chargers stopped them on 3rd and long, by head-butting Daniel Graham. This was most selfish and stupid penalty perhaps ever in the NFL.
Marlon McCree - Intercepted a 4th down pass and tried to run it back through a crowded field of Patriots when all he had to do to virtually assure a Chargers win was bat it to the ground.
Eric Parker - Dropped at least three easy to catch passes, and fumbled a punt, then tried to pick it up and run when he had plenty of time to just fall on it.
Marty Schottenheimer - Wasted a critical timeout by challenging McCree's fumble when it was such an obvious fumble that even the referees laughed at him for challenging it. Also he went for it on 4th and 10 in the first quarter when the Chargers would have had a decent chance of making the field goal. Finally the type of mental mistakes made by the Chargers throughout their collapse are not indicative of a well coached team.
4 very deserving contenders, but my vote goes to Eric Parker, what do you guys think?
Just like the red sox always lose to the yankees? Sir, are you English or retarded?
What happened at the end of the game proves to me why running backs cannot be MVP's. Don't get me wrong, they can certainly be the best football player in the world, but they cannot be the Most Valuable Player. I love LT, he made me so much money in FF this year. However, he doesn't touch the ball in late game crucial moments. The Chargers even threw a screen pass on the final drive and it wasn't even to LT!
Im not really sure who is going to win the AFC Championship...
However, I think Vinateri misses a 30yd FG to win the game, turns to the Colts bench, gives them the finger, rips off his jersey only to reveal his old Pats jersey. Then Belichik holds up a sign that says "Owned"
Hey, it could happen
OK, so you were just talking smack, that's cool. A lot of people really do think they can "know" who will win a game though.Quote:

That being said, LT is fantastic and I don't think him getting the MVP was a total joke like Shaun Alexander.

Yea, I would never hate on LT, that's my boy. I'm still upset Brady isn't going to the pro bowl, oh well, guess it was vindicated today.
Tom Brady has done so much with so little this year it's unbelievable. All I heard all week was how much more talented the Chargers were compared to the Pats. The truth is, they were!! It didn't matter though, cuz Brady has that look about him in the 4th Qtr, the kind of look MJ had, the look Vince had in last yrs Rose Bowl. His teammates look at him and he calms them down. Not by anything he says, just by the way he is. Add to the fact that he is a total class act and you can see why I think he's a helluva player.
brady wins another superbowl and he goes to cooperstown
The Red Sox, the Mavs, and the Pacers are all examples of teams that kept losing to their rivals seemingly every year, until they finally beat them. Plenty of people said they just couldn't get it done in the playoffs, but they eventually beat the team that it was said that they couldn't beat. I'm not sure what's retarded about comparing the Colts to those three teams so I guess I must be English. :?Quote:

One of many mistakes. SD was up by 8 late in the game yet they gave it away with unforced errors.Quote:

Why didn't SD do a better job of calling a timeout before the 2 point conversion that was snapped to the fullback?
The penalty that gave NE a new first down late in the game after SD had stopped them on 4th down was a huge mistake.
The fumbled punt return was a huge mistake. The SD receiver had time to dive on the ball after the original mis-handling but instead he got greedy and tried to pick it up while standing to see if he could gain a few yards.
And don't forget the stupid 15 yard penalty after the extra point, when SD went up 21-13. Gave the Pats good field position for the drive that tied the game.
This is due to poor playcalling. Most other teams would be using LT in a situation like this. There's a reason Marty Shottenheimer is 5-13 in the playoffs all time.Quote:

Thanks for reminding me - The chargers not going for a 48 Yd FG in a complete defensive battle made absolutely no sense. This, IMO, was there most obvious and silly mistake. This wasn't a split second mistake like the INT , Fumble, and penalty. This was just dumb. You have to kick the FG there.
Brady is a great, Joe Montana-cool quarterback, but as far as being a class act, he is when he wins, but he is awfully whiny/defensive/evasive when he loses. See: press conference after the Colts went up there last November and smacked the Pats down.
????? See: Never. Dudes a class act always...ALWAYS.Quote:

Like him or not, Manning answers every question asked, win or lose. Only thing he has done classless was throw the o-line under the bus last year after the playoff loss.
So yeah I stand by my opinion, that Brady is a classy winner, but not a classy loser.
I'm one of the few pats fans I know that likes payton manning...you wouldn't see him or tom brady EVER pull a stunt like LT did yesterday...I think saying "I don't wanna talk about it" is taking the high road...as in "I don't wanna talk about it because I could say something I could regret"
I don't remember the boston papers making a big deal about it all...brady can do no wrong in this town and is treated like a god by the globe and the herald...
I agree that LT was an idiot yesterday--I can understand being upset on the field after the game, but by the time you get to the podium you have to let it go. Not the best move in the world, and to put that on Belichick was ridiculous. He had nothing to do with it...
I had just seen a column by Bob Ryan the next day, and by the other columnist in the other paper (don't remember his name). I agree that he is a god up there....and one hell of a QB, so he has earned his spot. I wish Manning had half of his coolness. Manning is great at running an offense. I wish he was great under pressure. He tends to forget he has teammates in the playoffs and tries to do it all himself. All he had to do against the Steelers and that pass rush was slow it down by running a few screens or draws....but he thought he needed to put it all on his shoulders.
Here's to a great game this week!
It should be a great game indeed. I won't be bummed out if the colts win honestly...colts/saints would still be a much better superbowl than baltimore vs. anybody...at least there is some star power there.
i pray that the Colts win. I don't think I could handle another pats superbowl win.
GO SAINTS!!!!!!
I think LT was okay with what he said. Being from New York, and a colts fan, I hate Bellicheck from all angles now, with the Jets thing and the Colts stuff. Then he goes and pushes that camera dude. He just gives off the impression of being a stuck up guy because of his success. I think Brady is a better QB then Manning, and I respect Brady, but I really hate Bellicheck and i give LT my support.
Geez...maybe it's just because I'm from here but I don't see this at all..BB apologized to the guy the night of the game and then the next day on the radio for pushing him...said he was trying to get to the other coach...Quote:

Ty Law - WTF?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been reading that the league may allow the patriots to "borrow" Ty Law from Kansas City? How can this be? Does anyone have any info on what's going on here?
Re: Ty Law - WTF?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't see this as being true. I'd be shocked.
Re: Ty Law - WTF?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They can't. He's signed with another team. Unless they're waiving him, in which case I guess anybody can pick him up.
Re: Ty Law - WTF?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
oh someone wrote this as a joke somewhere?
well for the pats to be guaranteed a win they would need him LOL, so I guess its on peoples mind.
Re: Ty Law - WTF?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Len Pasquarelli mentions this here in the same breath as Rodney Harrison miraculously coming back for this game: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playof... n&id=2731478
The way it was worded I thought he was serious, but I think it's a joke. I've read it a few other places too, but really, there's no way this can be allowed. You can't just "borrow" a player. Otherwise I'm sure teams would be doing it all the time in the playoffs.
lol borrow a player
There's a reason I don't post on that board.
Uh...I'm pretty sure he threw his ENTIRE DEFENSE under the bus when he lost to my Texans.Quote:

4. YES COLTS.... NOOOO OMG... YES COLTS... NO OMG.. YES COLTS! YES COLTS! YAYYYYYYYYYY!
i ejaculated a small amount in my pants when marlin jackson intercepted teh ball at the end.
that is all.
I just ran around a bar full of 150 people, screaming and waving my arms in the air, for 2 solid minutes. Then I noticed I had 4 people on call waiting. My friends are awesome.
Honestly I don't even know how to celebrate this because 3 hours ago I was thinking more about how to avoid severe depression. Part of me still thinks the Colts lost that game.
oh i forgot to watch the game
sounds like it was a good one

Yes that game was awesome...not the outcome I'd have prefered but an awesome game..congrats colts fans and good luck
god dammit
DA BEARS, FTW
When Samuel made that pick (and it was a great play by Samuel more than a bad throw by Manning), I was thinking about how much more beer I would have to drink to ease the pain. I felt bad for Dungy and Manning because there would be another year of questions.
All that was erased in a spectacular 30 minutes of football.
That was one of the best games I have seen.
The Pats are a more than worthy adversary. Hell of a season Pats fans. Hell of a game.
