Switch flush draw to OESD same senarios. What is my thoughts for calling the push, what about pushing myself if I think they are c-betting when ahead or behind . What's the consensus for short stacked villians, 150 BB or 200 BB effective stacks?

yea it's a lot of depends. Can I get a couple to work from.

Push if he's really aggressive and is capable of doing this often with less than a set or two pair. Otherwise, just flat call the flop bet and re-evaluate on the turn.

if villain has been extremely aggro, i look him up here and then make notes... a call would not be that far fetched here imo... u can eliminate QQ+ no PF re-raise... so it's most likely a set (Worst), but with 65BB after putting in what 40bb?? I CALL ALL DAY EVERYDAY, all u can eat babay!!

easy call w/ TPTK & FD in first scenario. I think mixing up flop raise w/ a flat call is good here also.

That was probably my fault. Not thinking TPGK and push. Thinking More along the Lines, how often am I ahead against a 40/20/4 with TP and the draw. How often do I hit Nut FD's.

I ask because a couple times I might fold to their aggression, but when holding a possible monster and they think I'm folding again with 30%+ and TP, when do you call, when do you push. I'm finding, obviously, a lot more very aggressive players at $50NL per table than you see at $25NL on my whole database.

In the first scenario, if you're up against a set (30/70), your EV=-3BB. Versus overpair/2p you're flipping so your EV=+38.5BB.

Let's give him a tight range of 80% set and 20% pverpair/2p => EV=+5,25BB. The math says you can't get away from this hand even if his pushing range is real tight.

Ofcourse, quite high variance.. :(

If I was to give the villian a couple of ranges. I would say he's 30% full of shit, 30% PP of which is 12% set, and 40% TPWK or overs. So I think I am ahead alot more than I'm behind. I'm more thinking along the lines of in general. When is it right to play for stacks? Is it all dependant on the villians range? If I'm 36% to complete my FD but ahead 50% of the time, this is an obvious call/push right?

Yeah, why ask this?.. if you're really 50% ahead+draw outs incase you're not, you'd be +EV to call a $1000 shove on a $1 pot even.

I think the theory you are looking for is good but this is not the spot for it. I'd have a hard time imagining many ppl here telling you to not play for stacks (after your flop raise). Can you remember the other two cards, do they fit someone limping in suited connectors and flopping 2 pair or someone else flopping an oesfd?

Against this opponent I don't think you can keep the money from going in if you are going to raise his flop bet.

As for when to get the money in...whenever you have an edge right?

It's not a real hand per'se. It's more the situation I'm seeing more and more at $50NL. Guys play more agressive. If I fold to aggression a few times, with C-betting and getting raised, I need to find the right places to push back. In coming from the weak ass $25NL where a push is everything from TPNK to made Str8's and FDraws. I want to consider the reasons for calling, so far it's been about villians ranges. Just looking for Ideas. maybe I will wait till a hand in question comes up, it happens often enough.
