So adventure #2 into 6max on Pokerstars tonight. I am playing .10/.25, rolled for more but I suck so that's where I'm sticking.

I was up about $10 after 300 or so hands. It means nothing, I know. Then came Mr. 70/0/12. That's what he was after I left. He took $20 from me, all on the most improbable bad beats. I haven't gone through the history yet, but probably did it 6 - 7 times in 200 hands.

How do you play against someone that limps so much PF and then raises with crap (min raising mostly)? He'd call raises - good raises - and then suck out. It was amazing luckboxing.

So with people like that do you just completely rock up and play passive with monsters? Do you overbet with a hand? I was just completely confused.

Pretty much figure out when he's bluffing and when he has the goods and adjust from there.

You must have missed the part where I said I suck. How do I figure such a thing out when he limps or calls damn near anyhing? Once I figure out when a bluff is on, how do I adjust? I assume you mean bet more or be more passive?

Bet your good hands. Dont bluff. You have to watch to see what kinds of hands hes calling with, what kinds of hands hes raising with. If he calls with anything but raises with 2 pair + then keep betting TPTK and fold when he raises.

If hes making minimum bets then you can call along with any pair and hope to suck out. Once you hit that 2 pair you can raise it a little for value. Be prepared to play bigger pots than usual with each of your hands. e.g. You are easily getting 3 streets of value with TPTK because he is calling with worse kickers. Against tight players you might check the turn or river with a top pair hand but against this guy moderatly sized bets on all streets are probably called for. just loosen up a little on value hands and tighten up alot on bluffs.

At least he raised PF so you had some idea what he may have (assuming it was in a certain range and not random). The fact that this guy NEVER raised pre-flop, only limped or called, made it so hard to have any idea.

Pelion pretty well nails it. You can't bluff these guys so don't try, but I would definitely open up my range though, 'cause you want to get into as many pots as you can with them with decent holdings.

You pretty much cant put him on a hand preflop. You have to narrow down his range postflop.

make your hands cheaply then take them to valuesville. He wont notice when you have a hand, hell just call.

I'm wondering about the following.. how to best play TPTK or overpair against calling stations like that. Let's say I have AA, do I want to raise it up big preflop, then lead 3 streets so that we're allin on the river? Or raise normal preflop, then cbet 2/3 pot, check turn, block river and basically only play for stacks when I make a monster like a set?

I'm really torn between these two approaches and never really know which to pick. On the one hand sometimes they stack off so easily (on TPNK or some draw) that I feel like I'm losing tons of value keeping pots small all the time because I'm gonna be sitting on an overpair/TPHK a LOT more than on a monster. But at other times you can spew off buyins very fast if you plan on playing every TPTK for stacks.
