Help fix my disgusting stats.

Firstly, I know a sample size of 3.3k is ridiculously small but I see glaring leaks in my stats and there's no point creating a large sample while leaks are still present. Nip these problems in the bud I say.

Anyway, here's my PT stats:

My V$IP is way too high, that's plain for all to see, what else is seriously worrying?

Any tips on getting V$IP down? Do I need to be raising more PF?

Also any other pointers/tips will be greatly appreciated, don't hold back mind. :shock:

First of all, this is not shorthanded NL. Your stats are for full ring which makes your looseness even more troubling.

Rasing more PF will not get your VPIP down. To clarify your VPIP is the percentage of time you voluntarily put money into the pot Preflop.

You need to tighten up considerably. I would eliminate the bottom third of your range at the least. This in turn will keep you out of marginal spots postflop where all the money is in NL anyways.

Its giving full ring stats, but there's hardly any full ring hands in there.

To OP, if you want to tighten up, then I'd concentrate on tightening up more from early position. Playing 35% of your hands UTG is worse than playing 42% of your hands from the button. Good players can probably get away with the latter, but not the former.

To clarify, it is 6max i played like 10 orbits of FR once with a mate.

Original advice still stands. Lose atleast 1/3 of your range and save yourself a lot less trouble postflop.

I'd say keep playing exactly like this if you're decent postflop.

Seeing lots of flops vs fish is huuuuugely +ev. It's not as easy as playing Taggy but you seem to be doing fine.

Seeing lots of flops gets dangerous when you're downswinging/playing badly / lacking confidence.

I'd not worry too much about tightening for now if I were you. Just remember to value-bet the shit out of your monsters when you see this many flops.

Another question, is open limping ever good? I think I read somewhere that we should sometimes open limp from the button if we know the blinds are bad. Is this true and are there any other circumstances where open limping is a good idea?

Your stats are fine imo, in the sense that they're in a range that can be played profitably at 20NL. It's all about postflop play and utilizing implied odds. If you look at players who beat these microstakes you'll see they (open) limp a lot. If the table is loose passive (ie a lot of them call raises but they don't raise often) then I think if you raise a lot of hands (like 22 and 75s) you're actually shooting yourself in the foot.

When you get to stakes where there's a lot of preflop raising and 3betting, a lot of pots are HU and postflop a lot of pressure is applied, then I think it's more crucial to gun for the 25/20 (or whatever) ideal.

You never talked about your confidence in post flop ability. Jack is right that the theoretically best way to beat low stakes would probably include limping a lot of hands. However, most people at low stakes are either learning the game or donking around. It's best to learn ABC poker, since you're almost always starting with better hands than your opponents post-flop poker becomes much easier.

Open limping has it's place. That's when you know when/where/why to open limp and you have a solid post-flop plan for extracting money when you hit, and stealing pots when you think everyone else missed. Without these "skills" you lack the implied odds for a hand like 75o.

A read that 1/2 the table will stack off with TPGK, or an overpair may be good enough at low stakes. This requires adjusting for the table which isn't easy at first. You can't go wrong with ABC.

@Swiggidy, I'm confident in my post-flop ability. When I started to play poker I spent all my 'learning time' on post-flop poker, and I'd say it's the strongest part of my game.

Just had a little 250 session, trying to cut down on limping, especially open limping and it's definitely dropping:

The one where I drop a buyin is a set over set and the dropping half a buy in was a call on the river where I had TPGK and rivered my kicker to make a strong two pair, bet the river, got minraised and called and the kicker I'd hit to make two pair had given him a set. I lol'd.

Oh yeah, my PT doesn't seem to be giving accurate amount won figures, I know in that session I took two $20 buyins to ~$50 and ~$50. Any ideas?

24 is still a tad high for 14 vpip.

My PFR is more like 15/16 atm anyway, but yeah I'm sure my VSIP will decrease further when I move up, but I'm really comfortable atm like this. :)

24/14 = exactly my long-term stats: 9.5ptbb/100 at £25NL, 8.65ptbb/100 at £50NL.
