Hand 1: Villain is 45/15, my only read is that he DIDNT reraise AK preflop and showed it down earlier vs another player.

Hand 1: Fine with a read, if your are playing a more aggressive preflop game still then you might need to start calling these more.

Hand 2: Fine, SB usually shows up with another PP here. TT?

Hand 3: If you are going to call this out of the BB you need to lead this flop, then if he raises you can choose to push. I feel that when big playing draws oop you really need to be the one pushing not calling.

1. Wow, you've really got to call this. Villain basically never has KK+ here. His range is weighed heavily toward AK, but you might see JJ or AQ making this play. I think this would be a tough decision if you had JJ, but QQ seems like an easy call. Others, am i out of line here?

2. i think u can play it like u played it, but i think calling pre is better. I'd like your line a lot more if u had KJ or AT or something. 99 plays too well after the flop to waste it on a threebet.

3. Jager said it. b3bai the flop. The way u played it is probably +EV though. You are only making a bad call when he has a set, which is pretty rare here. (well i suppose it would also suck if he had your flush outs pwned)

1: I think I'm calling, especially if I've been reraising his button steals. A push that deep is often a hand that doesn't want a call.

2: Ugh. Preflop is a good spot for a squeeze, but I prefer strong hands and trash for squeezing because when you get called, you can continue or pitch your hand easily. In this case, with the 99, your problems are compounded by the stack sizes. You really only have room to fire one barrel: your flop c-bet was smallish, and even so it left you with only 1/2 PSB on the turn. Given the hot and cold nature of your hand and your good relative position postflop, I think a call is better preflop.

3: The thing I hate about this hand is that the holding your opponent will fear is a set, and most players rarely play a set this way, preferring to lead the flop. A flop c/r is frequenly a draw or a small pair. If your opponent knows this, that kills your fold equity, and forces you to call AI with the 5th nut low (i.e., you're behind). Just play it like a set, get some folds, suck out when called (to your opponents' delight, lol) and find yourself getting paid when you actually have a set.

I also support everything Renton said. Threebetting OOP with 99 is pretty stupid.

how so??? its 75% of pot, should it be any higher? You think any amount folds out JTs here?

hand 1 is close ; i probably call about 50% of time vs unknowns, probably a little more vs someone like this. If he didn't reriase AK preflop it doesn't mean he played it "weakly", he could have been LOLTRAPPING ;)

hand 2 you usually see a similar hand to yours and his range is slightly ahead of your hand (99-1010 or QQ, sometimes a trappy KK that got scared by that flop). If you're seen villain fold then a 2nd bullet looks very very strong. As played I think you win the showdown very very rarely so I'd usually shove the turn or river (if I'd seen villain fold before).

Oh, I think I misunderstood this comment: He didn't "voluntarily" show AK, he went to showdown. So, he wasn't pulling some "look I had AK and didn't re-raise it pre-flop".

I would have to have been 3-betting light repeatedly vs. this guy before I call with QQ... but maybe I am a nit.

the fact that u are on the bb and villain is on the button, makes hand 1 and insta call vs almost any player in todays games.
