A few hands from first crack at $100NL

Hand 1

I know this one will seem disgustingly weak but I couldn't see anything I was ahead of.

Villain is 24/11/2 over about 100 hands. Solid, nitty player. I'm running at about 19/17/3 and should have a good image. We have never played together before.

6 handed, he has $87 I cover

I have [Ac Jc} UTG and raise to $4, MP calls, villain calls from SB. 3 players to the flop

Flop [Qh 8c As] - pot $13
Villain leads for $11, I fold.

I really think the only hands a player like this could have here are 88, AJ, AQ, AK. Bad?

Hand 2

Villain is a donkey running at something like 63/0/1.5

Obviously a serial limper. I have been raising his limps quite regularly and he has mostly folded or called and then folded to a cbet. He hasn't done this yet but I suspect he's getting abit fed up with me.

6 handed, he has $75, I cover.

I have [AKo], villain limps UTG, I make it $5 UTG+1, folded around to villain who makes it $16, I shove.

Standard yeah?

Hand 3

I am playing at lots of tables with this villain and he should view me as a solid TAG. He's running at 22/11/2.5 and doesn't really get out of line.

6 handed, he has $140, I cover.
Villain open limps UTG+1, MP (poster) checks, I have [7c 4s] and make it $5, idiot calls in BB, villain calls, MP calls. lovely

Flop [9d 8h 7h] pot = $16.50
check, check, check

Turn [9d 8h 7h] [7s] pot = $16.50
BB checks, villain bets $14, I call, BB folds

River [9d 8h 7h] [7s] [8d] pot = $44.50
Villain bets $30, I fold.

Hand 4
OK, here's one I really made a mess of.

Myself and the villain have been duelling in the chatbox. A few hands ago, I raised on the button, he called from SB, BB folded. Flop KJ6, he checks, I cbet, he minraises, I fold. I say he has KJ (he could) or 66, he claims to have 88 and I tell him to stop lying. He calls me a n00b, lol. He's pissed off and is gunning for me.

I have played with him a lot at $50NL but he doesn't know who I am because I have a new SN. He's running at 22/12/1.5. PT had him autorated as a "showdown muppet" for a while but now he's an unknown or something.

To the hand. Since out altercation in the chatbox, I have open folded my SB to once and this is the second time it has been folded around to me.

6 handed, he has $117, I cover.

Folded to me in the SB with [Jc 9s] and I make it $3.50, villain calls.

Flop [Jh Td 5d] pot = $8
I bet $5, he calls

Turn [Jh Td 5d] [2d] poet = $18
I bet $11, he calls

River [Jh Td 5d] [2d] [Kh] poet = $40
I check, he bets $30, I fold

hand 1-repop flop to around 28-33 and fold to a shove

hand2- call his RR instead of shove

hand 3-turn call is okay, river is a call

hand 4 is fine

1) That's raising for info
2) Why, he'll probably shove the flop anyway and i could be ahead at the moment.

hand 1: WTF?!?!?! do you have any idea how exploitable you are being here? this lead from a player like this frequently indicates weakness/i wanna see where im at. id raise this with air often btw. since u dont have air and AQ is in his range id just call and check thru most turns and value bet most rivers.

hand 2: shoving is def standard. however, with a villain like this id raise to 40 or something just cause they tend to stack off with dumber shit when i do this for some reason

hand 3: WTF!?!?!?!?!? raise turn if u think calling a shove is profitable- i donno if ppl r thinking on enough levels to semibluff shove at the level but at 600 or 1k i would always attempt to get all in here. i like ur flop check btw. as played insta call river jesus christ ur behind one hand lol, hes betting straights for value here among many other things thats one of ur better cards. ..

hand 4: i dont mind this at all. i usually fold preflop here but raising is fine. also bet a bit more on flop as ur losing so much value with 5. other than that seems fine/good, river is a fold against typical opponents with ur image, and probably is vs this guy as just about everything hit and u have no kicker. i think u played this well.

Ok, hand 3 first.

I actually left the library to come post here because I've thinking about it. Bascially I am an idiot. On the flop, he bets any set since it's so draw heavy. JT is the only hand he might consider checking with but I beat that by the river! Also, my hand is toally disguised as there's no way I should have a 7 here. Pretty furious I let that one go but lesson definitely learned. The fucker showed A5o!! (why he was limping there I do not know but whatever...)

Hand 1, I would do what the villain did if I had 2 pair or a set since I know someone with AK etc is likely to play back at me. He knows I'm not raising with trash UTG and he still has another player to act after me so what do you put him on here?!

(Also, just to save a bit of face, I'm not at all in the habit of check folding when I hit my A, this one just didn't seem right) :)

atlas- im not saying stack off or put in 2-3 streets of value with hand 1 against a sane player, but u just cant fold this in position when ur ahead of such a large chunk of his range. just cause u read him for 2pair or a set doesnt mean u can just give up, it means proceed cautiously- it would be ridiculous if he was only leading 2 pair and sets in this spot lol.

I agree with sauce on hand 1. I sometimes call there, and I sometimes raise there, but I'll never fold there thats for sure!

If i raise the flop and he calls, I'll mostly likely check through the turn unimproved and possibly call his river lead depending on how big it is.

I only like hand #4. And hand #3 I REALLY hate. I agree with Sauce on everything here.

Hand 1: Gotta raise here, $28. You probably have the best hand.

Hand 2: This is ok, based upon history between you. You probably have FE and even if it's a race you have good pot odds

Hand 3: Fold PF. What the heck are you doing? You should also bet flop, and raise the turn. I probably call river expecting to take it down. You can't just give him credit for the 8's.

Hand 4: I don't like the raise out of the SB with such an easily dominated hand. I think you fold PF.

1) bleah. I guess I like a call better than raise. You have position AND a NF redraw!
2) I just stopped getting AI PF with AK unless vs. shorty or someone I have seen do this with marginal hands. This is at 50NL. The last time, tag raises 4x PF, I 3-bet with KK from SB, he folds. Next hand, tag raises 4x PF, I 3-bet with AK, he pushes. I chatted at him and he chatted back = call please, so I folded. He insulted my manhood. I think I was right.

3) He has A5o, call (<grin>) Seriously, I might fold to a bigger bet, but < pot sized, disguised hand, bluffy situation... call.

4) You guys fold solid gold like J9o SB in a blind war??? Mebbe I should rethink my HU strategy. I tend to go with anything remotely playable, 50% raise, 50% call. As played river is razor thin. Either he has some kind of 1 pair, or maybe a flush and thinks you have nothing that you would call a raise with. Could he have gotten to the river with a naked Kd? or KQd ? He could be bluffing, too...

Ok, advice taken thanks everyone. I plan on posting a lot more hands in the near future as I continue to donk them up!
