Any explanation on why you didn't bet this flop?

Being first to act in a 4 way pot, I thought seeing some action first could help my play... I guess what I didn't want was a $12 bet that is just called, and then a tough turn blank. If I check, I can re-raise or push.

Great flop to bet since youre ahead of most stuff that calls/rasises you.

Not only that but you can second barrel alot of reasonably high turns as well as the A,K or hearts. You have alot of outs to the best hand and alot of outs to a pretty hard to call second barrel.

Being first to act, wouldn't betting be a pretty strong lead in a 4-way pot? As it's probably going to be bet when we check, I like a c/r..

Could anyone elaborate why a flop lead is better?

I agree minSim, I thought letting someone else bet so we can do a massive c/r is the best play, thoughts from flop leaders?

Even though the pot is small, I think pushing is fine considering FE and pot odds we're good against anything but 55/22

I lead this flop. I think a massive c/r looks stronger than a c-bet. And you don't really mind multiple callers because you're even with or ahead of everything except 55 and 2's, both of which are unlikely. A massive c/r probably folds worse flush draws, which you really want to come along. Not to mention that you'd usually c-bet high pairs for value/protection here, so c-betting this is balancing.

Once checked and given this action, I probably push, but a flat call is tempting too. The problem with pushing is that hands you beat (worse flush draws) don't come along. But the upside is you fold out hands you're even with (overpairs) who aren't giving you action if you hit your hand anyway. Calling is nice b/c you might win a stack if the flush hits and it could save you money if you're way behind A2/55. Still, slight advantage to push imo.

Calling will probably scare the crap out of them and might allow you to see the river rather cheap..

awesome flop. i like leading out too, for the reasons zook and pelion said.
i'd rather get a mid pair to fold on the flop, but if someone gets all in with one on the flop, it's good for ur image.

if someone flat calls, judge what to do based on the card and reads. i would probably bet again.
