$50NL AJ OOP

My first HH post! Been wanting to start posting HH's for ages, this was the only one from last nites session which stood out.
Villain was running 20/8 over a small sample size (but more like 30/8 by the end of the session)
No reads, not been sat down long, whats the plan here against an unknown?

I fold and forget it. AJ can be horrible OOP and I give him credit for AQ or 44. However if he persistently does this you may need to play back at him. His line looks to me like he hopes you can't fold top pair. Mind you i'm nitty OOP.

I'm glad you put this hand up. It's a cery common situation and one I'm having trouble with playing, mostly because you're OOP.

Usually I'd fold but I hope someone says I'm WAY too passive here. It's a big raise and your being OOP. If you're calling you're having a tough turn.

Alternative 1: Call and lead a non club turn for 20. Fold when raised and block bet a non-club river?

Alternative 2: Call and check/call a reasonable bet on a non-club turn. At this level I'd expect a flush draw to check behind.

Does anyone play this differently with AK then AJ? and why?

Fold and keep an eye on him if he does it more often, in which case you can try to play back in the future. With no reads it might conceivably be a tight player who hit his hand, no need to pay that off right away..

With AK I'd be more inclined to call but I'd still fold probably because his raise is so large..

Im never folding AK here but AJ does seem like a fold. Problem is he could have pair+FD on this board (KcQc)

i fold this. I agree that it could be a KcQc type hand, but no need to push that. AK im definitly not folding.

I'm surprised that there are a few ppl saying fold AJ because it looks like AQ/44, but are saying they wouldn't fold AK.

Those two hands should play similar here. You're either ahead with both, or behind with both.

I don't mind folding to such a big raise, and keeping an eye on him.

1) AJ loses to another AK, which AK doesn't.
2) AK has 3 outs vs. AQ.

I did indeed fold, against an unknown I thought I had to treat AJ as Ax - not worth going to war over for me.
I should add he folded to my cbet 4 times later on in the session, but this hand puzzled me at the time - looking for a good line against an unknown.
