Should you ever fold a set to a LAG?

Villain is Laggy over a small sample size. Like 20/50 over only 20 hands. He has pushed me out of a small pot earlier, but I am doubtful he is even aware I had a decent hand there. Problem is guys like this tend to wake up with near nut hands because their range is so wide. He could easily have a 87 or any X7 of hearts. River push could be air on a scary board too.
My stats are tight or even semi-tight(prob. 15/25) as I had a few playable hands in the last 20 since he's been at the table.

as played river is meh but shove turn.

i am not one to dispute the advice, but the turn call was profitable to you long term.

you have 10 outs and you only have to call $5 into $23 with commitment out of villain for the rest in case you hit.

we have been discussing this situation for 25NL a lot lately, and i say...call the bet, and then shove... if you boat/quad up.

why spend the money before you have to when villain is both LAGGy and committed to the hand? you dont have enough FE for the shove on the turn.

where this is profitable is if you can fold the set when you miss, and he shoves the river because...he's gonna.

Who needs FE? We very likely have the best hand still. We're rooting for Mr. Laggo to call with whatever 2 pair/pair+one heart/gutshot draw that he may be raising. No need to let him see a river card (without paying full admission) to see if he backs into a flush or straight to beat us.

my quick impression of the LAG is that he minraised the turn...begging for a call. meaning, he has the nut draw, or has the flush made here.

if he were afraid, he would have pushed or folded.

minraise doesnt necessarily mean begging for a call, its also a cheap bluff or a cheap way to get info

That was my thinking exactly. Lag would have pushed if he was behind.

In other words you are nearly always stacking off with a set vs. a LAG, yes? Flush board be damned and push over.

Half the money is in the pot and any Heart is drawing live against you. Stick it in.

dont fold unless he checkraises the flop and u dont have a set yet

the river well theres like all draws out and u need 20% to break even. i dont think u have that. if he had draw he had it on turn so he is not shoving missed draw. fold unless ur playing a maniac/bluffer (tho with that turn minraise u should fold a maniac/bluffer too). hope this helps hehe.

what do you ppl think about checking that turn and calling smaller amount ? if he has big hand str/flush he pays us with stack anyway if he boat up. if he dont have it we may get off it cheaper.

i mean what he calls us wiht on flop draw or AT,T9 something. we stillcan beat that with our 666 but we dnt know where we are in hnad when all the draws just completed.
