You're facing a player who i threebetting very frequently OOP, something like 20% of his hands. He has cbet every flop.
You raised pre, he reraises 3x you call. At this point before we see any flop what hand would you like to have the most and why? Rank in order of best to worst.

How deep is the the money? How many big blinds in the pot after the pre-flop action and about how many behind?
100bb deep.
ummm 400nl for example i would raise 12, he reraises to 36, i call. so we'd each have about 360 behind in a 72 pot.

why? i've rated them in order of what i think to be the best hands for which we can "play back" at them if we choose and not be too far behind if we're caught.

its a simple matter of what flops the best.
Since you can basically make a plus ev commit/call on flop with any flopped pair or draw, and QJs flops by far the most pairs and draws out of all those hands, it therefore is the best hand.
For me:
1. QJs for reasons stated
2. 44 because we're ahead a good amount and its really not too hard to play, 66 or 77 is a lot better though.
3. KT We can felt if we flop a pair and its fine
4. 97s is really a better hand to be threebetting than calling a threebet.
5. Axs, it's just such a bad hand in a threebet pot, we lose a lot to Ace and better kicker, and just no value from worse.

With the relatively big cards we are still way ahead of his 3betting range and if we both hit toppair (or maybe even if he hits middle pair) its probably going in with us having the better kicker. Axs I wasnt really sure where to put since with a low x the kicker isnt going to play too often and he probably wont get as aggressive with middle pairs/ draws on A high flops as on lower flops. We can at least try to put some pressure on when we have an overcard + FD though. 44 is for the times he has top pair and we have a set. Its going to be really hard to play those times we dont set. Through all of this Ive assumed that if hes 3betting light then hes stacking off light aswell but this might not be true. 97s Is pretty close to Axs and to 44. Its for those combodraw moments (and sometimes just naked draws). In general against this guy I want 2 big cards so Im ahead of his range (and still ahead of his range if we both hit top pair). KT and QJ give me that. Ax has kicker troubles and the speculative hands are going to miss too often to turn a profit with such short effective stacks (since it is a 3bet pot). We could probably still lose money if he folded to every semi-bluff shove and called a push every time we hit. We also get into both kicker troubles and underpair troubles when he has A9 on K94 flops or A72 flops if we want to get frisky there.
