overcards on dull flop, call all-in?

Should I call the all-in? Villain seems aggressive, second orbit at table. I was pushed off a pot after making a pot raise a couple of hands earlier.

I know, I know. I hate short-stacks too, especially the $2 buy-in $10NL flavour. I very rarely do it but am experimenting with SH$25PL and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Easy call. You are getting better than 4:1 and only need 4:1 if he has a pair. Given that he could also have a draw/ overcards and just be putting you to a decision because he thinks you missed its an instacall. Also bad beating fish is fun.

I called. Villain had Aten suited and my hand held up. I was initially a little less short-stacked bought in ten dollars, but backed off a pot the previous hand and hadn't bought back yet.

?'cos I'm going to get eaten? maybe I should quit while I'm ahead then. Actually, I sorta did. Went and found half empty NL $5 and $10 table to satisfy my urge to experiment with sh play. Less profitable, but probably a lot safer.. and people fold a LOT there, except when I go all in with a set of aces, then they call. I like it.

you won't like it cuz you will make less money. you won't be able to maximize your profit when you exploit the fish's mistakes. you will see money-making opportunities come up (like a fish pushing 88 preflop for like 75 bb's) and you will cry cuz you only have 25bb's or so to play with.

good points well made. Thanks. I think I also lose a whole lot of space to play poker (vs push/fold) and people are less likely to respect my raises. Back to only playing >80% buy-in.
