You're hand looks like a missed CR here, that is if he is aware of your image and more importantly his own. You say fair sLAG regular, so I assume he is a winning player. I think you're beat. I think a call is standard vs. most opponents, but if this villain is decent I think we are toast here to AA or 22. Unlikely but possibly a 5 or diamond draw, if I had a better read on his 3bet play.

I don't really think my hand looks like a missed check-raise. I think it looks like precisely A-K, since he probably thinks I would bet a big pair here. The reason being that my hand is virtually face-up anyways after 4-betting preflop, so checking for "deception" should seem like a futile play. It'd be like accidentally flashing my cards and then trying to conceal my hand through clever betting. If your opponent knows what you have you should just play straightforward and avoid giving free cards. I think this is something that is tacitly understood by good players.

One of the main reasons I checked the flop was not at all for deception, but because I had a strong sense that he was slow-playing K-K or A-A.

Queens aren't good to 4bet unless you know villain will call/raise with worse. Most 200NL players don't seem to be willing to continue with worse, unless you have quite a loose and aggressive image.

I like just calling the 3bet and check/calling a non King/Ace flop and betting a non King/Ace turn, calling a shove.

Unfortunately I do think he has AA/KK a lot here, but you cannot fold after you bet the turn.

Okay i retract my statement, this could be JJ, QQ, or AKs, way less likely than AA or KK though. Turn is BARELY a call, but just barely.
