I've heard when you lose 30% of your roll in FR, you should move down to the next limit below what you were playing. I just wanted to confirm if this is right?
Also, 20 buy ins is right for the limit you are playing correct?

it's really just about what you are comfortable playing with. most ppl need 20+ buyins to remain feeling comfy after a downswing.
qft. I like having 20 buy ins plus 20 buyins for the level below mine so I am actually playing on 20 buyins and dont go busto if i lose it all. I'm also a br nit.Quote:

It's all about how comfortable you feel.
If you don't have 20buyins for the level you are playing, move down.Quote:

If you've lost 30% of your roll then watch out for subtle tilting. And move down for a session so that subconscious tilt can't hammer your roll further.
I'm super conservative when it comes to bankroll and replace the 20buyins rule with a 30buyins minimum rule and some unusual ideas about treating money earned through bonuses/rakebacks/promotions as separate from my main roll when considering the limit I should be playing at.
werd thanks for the advice, I never play scared with my money. I thought as poker players you have to have a disregard for money, in a sense that you shouldn't play scared just b/c you lost a buy in or two.
That's how I feel, I actually lost a buyin on one hand last night, didn't phase me one bit, I reloaded and kept going. I do think I will stick with the 30% rule though, and drop down if it were to happen.
B/c if it did, I would have 35 buyins for 10NL, so I am still good to go, thanks guys!
well the point isn't to not be scared after losing a buyin or 2. it's to not be scared after losing like 9 or 10 buyins.Quote:
