afternoon hands review...

hand one. villain is loose aggressive pre/passive post...VERY passive post flop, a call station.

was this a bad flop raise? i had button and didnt think that was a "lead" of strength judged by it's size. my raise was to slow him down, if he had a weaker A and hope to draw out if i was behind. i certainly wasnt going any further with the hand. i didnt think he would let me get to showdown, for sure.

i guess this was my only questionable hand for the day so far. the rest were pretty standard TPTK stuff.

tell ya what, though. a shout out to the video series crews. bet sizing in spenda's micro series...and seat selection from TJ are great vids that payoff well immediately. if you havent seen them, get to them.

dont think because you can beat 10NL or 25NL that you dont need to watch them. you will increase your winrate even more...i promise.

What does this achieve?

i dont know. lol. i, for some reason wanted to see if he was full of it, but since he was so passive post flop, i figured if he called, there was no way he would fire again, unless he had AA. that would give me two looks w/ no more betting to catch.

however, in reality, it was just a position bluff to see if he had the A. and, not that smart since he was a bit of a call station, too.

thats why i asked. i want to see if anyone else does (raises) this or if they just fold to such a small bet from such a passive player.

i assume, if we want to continue, we needed to call only, and see what he does on the turn. but, there was a flush draw out, that if i was ahead, i wanted to make him think twice before chasing it. sometimes these soft leads are blocks, too.

i think its fine.

if you always raise whenever someone bets 1/9 of the pot it will be profitable.

I like your flop raise. Against weak opponents you win those pots often enough to make this play profitable.
