From tonight's session. I felt I played well - you might disagree.

Rhythman was 37/12, slightly aggressive and probably better than these stats imply - we chatted a bit and he seemed okay.

hand 1: seems a bit tight, at least call and see what happens on the turn. I'd probably 3bet here myself, but this is certainly a dangerous flop.

hand 2: played ok.

hand 3: against a hyper-lagg river bet has value here, think he calls a lot with 10-x or 2pr. Then again i have seen guys like that chase all the way with Jx, but i guess you'll know soon enough.

1). You can't fold an overpair here on the flop. However there are a lot of scary turns that you can fold on if he bets again. If the turn is a blank and villain makes a reasonably sized bet you should go all in.

If he was playing passively over a large sample then i think you could fold to a check/raise.

2). I might raise to 17-18 instead so the turn bet to put villain AI isn't quite so large. Otherwise the hand is played well.

3). I would not float this flop. The flop is likely to have either given him a pair or a better draw than the one you are floating with. Particulary if he is playing aggressively he is going to be betting at a lot of scary turn/rivers that will force you to fold later in the hand. River value bet is good.

hand 3: i dont really like flop. but as played ofcourse value bet river.

All look pretty good.

1: Every option seems ok here, fold is the safest, certainly.

2: Wheeeeeeee fistpump

The first hand was just feel - a set, two pair and a combo draw are such a big part of his range, bearing in mind a decentish player making such a small re-raise - that I couldn't face stacking off with a pair of queens. And had I called or raised his flop bet, meh. I also think it was weak but every alarm bell imaginable is ringing here.

Hand 2, I never seriously considered folding as the hands he might have that are ahead here are such a small part of his range, assuming he's a regular unknown. Fair?

Hand 3 is probably the most dubious of the 3. I knew at this point he was maniacal pre-flop and very aggro on the flop; I took a risk that he could also fold a poor or whiffed hand to a 3/4 pot turn bet. I don't think I'm wrong... but maybe this wasn't such a great flop to do it on.

I didnt read any of the responses,

hand 1 seems bad vs a weak player, generally they are at least slightly trappy with strong hands and the board is so draw heavy and he only had 70 bb at the start I can get it in comfortably on this draw heavy board and be ahead vs his range.

Hand 2 seems good,
very few players are good enough to lead with a set on a board that most likely missed hero and then when he just calls you have to think his range is mid pair/draw and turn doesnt change that.
I dont see him pushing TT when you will probably bet if checked to.
I call this very easily.

Hand 3
Guy is not hyper lag - guy is hyper donkey
You can check raise him/ get it in with top pair and stack him in no time, no need to bluff at all.
His flop lead is a one pair hand/draw
His turn call looks like he has draw outs, draw hits on river I dont bluff, esp. since he will even call with a bare 9.
Just wait for a better spot.
(Oh wait you have straight oops, my bad, yeah I bet for value but fold to a check raise.)

Barring any read on villains post-flop play, I tend call the flop to check out the turn. Fold is safe though. Rest are g00t.

I only really ever see his line from donks, and it's generally weak-medium hands, I'd say you get shown 66-99 there a lot, hence the fistpump.

Thanks loads for the replies fellas. I am still torn over hand 1 because, based on my experience and instinct at $50NL, this raise shows real strength. Or does it? If he has a set or a straight, shouldn't he be giving me worse odds to chase if *I* have a straight draw or flush draw?

The other two hands: The AA hand lost against Q2s; and the A6s hand won vs T8 making two pair on the river - thankfully he just called my river value bet. In a way this hand played itself as I certainly wasn't investing any more money if I didn't hit, but I had fulfilled my obligation to try and beat off the lagg on the turn. Perhaps I should have chosen a better spot.
