I've been burned by too many boats / big flushes on boards like these...am I being too nitty? Should I be betting the river here?

i dont think that line is passive at all. in fact, you look like the T being drawn against by a higher flush.

i call river and hope to see two pair, set, TP, overpair...something like that. but, i am not surprised when i see AXs that was chasing me.

Soooo...is limping in the CO/BU always bad? Even with crap like QJo & low suited connectors I should be raising pf even with limpers behind? I raise a fair number of hands in position, but SCs & PPs I'm inclined to limp. Maybe that's why I'm running like 16/9 and not 15/12?

What's your problem with the turn bet? Straight flush draw tainted by the paired board?

And river. I posted mostly cause I was unsure of the river...any elaboration on the 'ugly'?

don't mind limping behind limpers with the 45s. would prefer to actually be on the button though. The reason to raise this would be to isolate the limper and take it down on the flop. your hand is a good drawing hand so more behind multiway can be good.

on the river, check-call seems good. especially with his smallish bet. I am assuming at least 2 pr here against an unknown. I would hate to bet the river and be faced with a shove. when that happens you are rarely good, but I am usually not good enough to let go. check-call gets more from complete trash, and saves your stack when you are against a boat. which is possible in a few different ways given it was a limped pot. I am not too worried about another backdoor flush here.

That was my reasoning for limping this. SCs are known for playing well in multi-ways ain't they?

Limping isn't necessarily bad here, I just like the raise to isolate or scoop more, and to get a read on what cards villain is limping - 16-9 and 15-12 can both win well though. I guess raising comes more naturally to me here
Turn I take the free card, it's like the classic line of raise the flop with a draw to disguise your hand if you hit the turn OR get a free card if you miss. I think I check behind even if the river doesn't pair, cos you don't have enough outs to call a check-raise shove.
River, by ugly I meant the card, 'cos it makes your decision difficult - which is another reason not to bloat the pot when the turn pairs the board! Your river play looks good, you want to showdown but you don't want to have to call a shove.
