Ok, so nevermind.....
C/F the turn
C/fold turn. You put him on a pair of jacks, and when he calls the turn, he probably isn't folding the river either imo (I know you posted results, but the only hands I could see him folding on the river would be missed draws like QT, since he doesn't seem like he wants to fold his J).
As a general rule: Don't try big bluffs vs standard 2NL players. They're loose, and it's very hard to get such loose players to fold with anything but the most marginal of hands.
I don't mind the c-bet -- if they've totally missed the flop they'll usually fold, but it's probably in the best interest of your bankroll to give up the bluff after the flop.
I'm spewing a little too much myself c-betting/bluffing players with loose stats. Ain't worth it!
cbet flop check fold turn
I think a c/f on the flop is necessary. Out of position, multiway pot, and we have nothing compared to what the 2NL donks might have. And if you put him on jacks, do you think he's going to fold to strength? If he's a standard 2NL player he's not folding anything short of a pair. We beat nothing.
Ok, so I totally see what everyone is thinking about check/folding the turn. But as far as making this move goes??? Were this against a standard player at say $100NL and higher how would you like this move????
Results later...
BTW, he has shown that he is capapble of folding second pair. I have not put himi in that situation much, but he has done it. Everyone is looking at this thru my cards. I'm not playing my cards here tho.
I think that is where the problem is. Standard 2NL player is calling you down with AJ, also with J2, even with 66. So if you read him for jacks and you have a king great, otherwise you are screwed because he isn't going to fold.Quote:

P.S. why was your read a pair of jacks? and why are you so positive?
And also, is raising 55 UTG standard?
Also, at this level when getting paid when you hit hands isn't a problem, you might limp that hand if you think you won't get reraised PF. Then just dump it if you don't hit the set on the flop.
The raise isn't bad either if you think you'll take it w/ a cbet, I like both options.
As played, I agree, cbet, then give up if called.
Would c-betting OOP be profitable at 2NL though? Probably a high chance of you getting called by somebody who caught any of the flop or any sort of draw. Then you are forced to check/fold to there maniac raise when they see your weakness.
My read is a jack because it was. I read well. i do not know why I see the cards the way I do. It just happens. And it just happens that when I see that someone has something, they have what I read them for.
Do you have any tips on developing a magical intuition for knowing your opponent's hand like you do? That sounds like a wonderful talent, though I think your skills may be slightly wasted on 2NL...Quote:

I can recap.
He raises 55 UTG, gets called.
Flop: xJK
He bets, gets called, knows he is beat by a pair of jacks.
Turn: something
He bets some more, he gets called some more.
River: something else.
He bluffs and goes all in and gets called and loses.
Let me find the hand, then I'll repost it. Sorry if you came looking for it after I took it down.
