Sunday night insane hand in live games, 2-4 NL

its 10 handed at this dynamic insane 2-4 NL table.
Background:
hero(around $600) in small blind was an uber aggressive TA, CO($390) was a huge loose rich donator who already lost over 1.2k , played & raised every hand like $10, $20 or $22 , bet flop when he hit any piece and called big with any weak drawing hands like two overs or gunshot. Button( $1250) 's image was super tight and kind of predictable.
CO raised $20 as usual, Button called and Hero picked up :As: :3s: and called.
flop came out: :4s: :7s: :3c:

Hero led out $20, CO called and Button raised to $120

hero shoved instanly, CO thought a little while and called, button called.
what ranges do you guys put both CO and button on? did hero play this hand way too aggressively?? any other choice for hero? fold? call/reevaluate?

Pair+NFD = nuts!

I really don't think either of them has flopped a set. Tight guy is raising so probably an overpair.

Why the weak flop bet? I'd either lead this strong or check/raise. Based on your reads I think getting it in with a probable 50% pot equity is fine.

Which casino is this?

Do you really think i'm the hero?? :? Instead, i'm super tight villain calling station . what range do you put me on? also, what range on my part do you think is definitely callable against two shoves in this situation? CO is the biggest money donator at my casino, occasionally hitting weird two pairs or river straight.. :roll:

Button usually has 88+/set/56 with perhaps a poorly played draw in there. His raise size is pretty value/protection driven and the donk is keeping him honest.

Hero made a big mistake leading into the pot from both a pot control and mistake equity perspective.

Do you aggree that i should dump out 55-66, A7, 88-TT and call 56, JJ+, Nuts flush combo draw, any sets/ two pairs in this situation? Probably KsQs is a marginal calling hand though given such heavy actions?

BN really needs to be 3-betting here a lot to establish a range to isolate the donk as the donk will give up an absurd amount of mistake equity as he tries to defend against the 3-bet. Unless there is some meta-game reason not to 3-bet and keep the game "friendly." KQs is going to hit A LOT of flops and has a lot of bluff equity on Axx boards even against a super-donk. I would probably 3-bet to $100 to see if he bites. Fail that any amount from $50 to $120 works.


That said you called. I would call again on the flop. Pot is building nicely so we still can get a lot of value and we the best absolute and relative position to abuse the fact we will make way better decisions than our opponents. Once a blue moon, the turn will get ugly, but I think more often SB will under-bet or tip off his hand and one of both will pay-off even when you think it's pretty obvious they're no good.

The problem with raising the turn is that it pushes a small edge now and doesn't give us as much of a chance to punish poor play by our opponents. Also the GAMB00L factor is a little higher than it really needs to be against these softies. Keeping around a 3 buy-in stack if this hand gets ugly on the turn certainly has value and keeps us off tilt.

you made good point,Fnord :cool: Yeah, the donator definitely called like $100 preflop raise with any holdings. Actually, my 3 bet standard to isolate the donk is 99+, AJ+, KQ, not sure about some small -medium pairs. As played, i had 77 on the button, hit top set and made a no-brainer happy call. Ironically, they both missed their spade flush combo draw(the donk had :6s: :2s:) :P

So basically a brag thread huh? Yes, the overbet worked in this particular case. GJ "repping" a mere overpair, though I doubt anyone was paying attention.
