kittens?
I have two 12-year old "ex-male" cats that I love, they are my boys, my family. Have been tossing around the idea of getting another kitten. I know my guys aren't going to be around too much longer, relatively, and I dunno ... might be nice to have some continuity for myself. Plus, these guys are indoor cats and they don't get a whole lot of exercise, so maybe a kitty would be fun.
However, I don't want them to kill it, basically. There's no way I can know how they will react to another animal in the environment, so what do I do? Just don't do it? Anyone had any similar experience?
thx......

Should be fine. They will bat the crap out of the kitten occasionally but it normally looks far worse than it is. If they get too harsh throw a shoe at them or something until they get the message.
besides kittens are too cute to stay angry with even if they shit everywhere, the old boys will get used to it. I think the main thing is they wont see a 4 inch long fluff ball as a major threat to their pecking order and have to kill it.
Its probably just as likely that they will refuse to go anywhere near it for a while....

We have a 10 year old cat and just added a rescued 2 year old. The two year old pounces on the 10 year old a bit, but nothing too bad. Just need to watch them closely for a while.

It would probably be fine. The young one would probably torment the older two if anything, since it will have energy.
