Essentially, I repped a flush draw and nothing more. A Q should be good enough to catch a bluff, right? So is this a call getting 2.5:1?

I fold without thinking twice without a good read of maniac.

I don't think your 2nd pair no kicker is good nearly enough of the time to justify this call...villain 3-bet PF and the board hit a 'default' 3-betting range pretty hard.

edit: You're giving a 25NL unknown (who hasn't even bought in for full) a lot of credit by assuming that he's got you pegged as a FD, or even thinking about what you have at all.

Most likely he's just playing his cards...

what dozer said + check/fold river, imo.

Case for c/f river: the turn/river both nail his 3bet range, and he's probably shoving now with a near-nut hand: set of KK, QQ, JJ, or better pair with AA, AK, AQ. You're only ahead of AJ, TT and 99 which sort of bottom out the 3bet range for most NL25 villains, imo.

How often do people 3-bet the minimum pre-flop then check/fold the flop heads-up?

Hmm...not often, in my NL25 experience (which is 10k hands in last week). Are you suggesting check behind on the flop? Or that he's got a wider 3bet range than I thought?

Sometimes it's insightful to stop and ask "Why am I betting here? What am I hoping to accomplish? How is this line making me more money than a check or fold would?"

Hero's thinking process never made it past ZOMG FLUSH DRAW AND MY OPPONENT CHECKED TO ME.

completely agree with fnord. It's fun betting with draws...when we have FE.

villain obviously doesn't think you have a flush draw in this hand.

In general I would refuse to make 2nd level plays vs unknowns at 25NL
