I saw it today and thought the new Indy was complete garbage. The plot was pitiful and there was way too much dialogue. I wish I had never seen it.

meh, it was decent
probably slightly better than temple of doom, but def worse than raiders and crusade
The last half hour was terrible.
Raiders and the last crusade were above temple of doom but skulls was way below temple of doom. The crystal skulls in real life don't even look like those in the movie either. Total Trash!!!
They should have just kept it simple and made it about Noah's ark or Atlantis or something.
i didnt like any of the indy films
This isn't about car racing?
i saw it and thought it was awful but my friends loved it so whatever...Quote:

Second, I am developing a theory that which Indy sequel you prefer (between Temple and Crusade) says a lot about you as a person. Crusade is a safer movie - more conservative in every respect, follows the direction of Raiders throughout, touts family values, really tones down the violence, etc. Temple is a sloppier movie without a doubt and Willie is of course irritating through much of the movie, but the dark and experimental aspects of the movie always win me over. I think Temple took a big chance with the direction of the series when it could have just played safe, and for that reason principally I think it's a better and bolder movie than Crusade.
Now about this new one - I think "meh" sums it up. Harrison seems like Indy again, which is the best thing about it; Spielberg's direction is solid though not his best work; and Shia the Beef is actually pretty good, much to my surprise. But the script was not where it needed to be. The plot is confusing and in places obviously just slapped together, and the general craftsmanship of the earlier movies isn't in this one. It's well above the Star Wars prequels and Matrix sequels, but well below all three previous Indiana Jones movies. Sadly.
is it worth seeing atleast for a fan of the originals?
I went to catch a movie with my gf last night, we chose iron man over ij because of what we had heard. Iron man was awesome, so Im happy.
My question though is: should we see IJ in theatres or just wait for the dvd? Im kinda on a budget and there are lots of movies I want to see this summer.
meh i mean it's absolutely mindless and the plot is entirely ridiculous but it's a bit of fun. depends what you like/ are in the mood for I suppose, but I wouldn't "wholeheartedly" recommend this film.
k, I think Im just gonna wait for batman and hancock...
Wait for DVD definitely, this IJ IV was a complete flop. Aliens IV was even better, lol.
Sheeeeit... Aliens THREE wasn't even better than IJ4, let alone Aliens 4 (a.k.a. the movie I really should have known better than to go see, considering Winona Ryder was in the fuckin' thing). And that's not a recommendation really. I just hated the last two alien movies.Quote:

Indy IV could have been much better if they had just picked a better script. The crystal skulls don't even look like that in real life and the whole alien thing was just a piece of shit. The only decent actor in the movie was Ford, everyone else did B movie acting. I knew 20 minutes into the movie that is was gonna be complete crap.
lol spoileraments... may want to edit ur post pythonic
Seeing this movie spoils the whole series. Trust me.Quote:
