Barack Obama will win the nomination!

I believe that the US of A will have a President McCain before the end of the year unless Barack can get Hillary on the ticket as VP.

However, I really hope that Barack Obama will get there as I am sick of tired to discuss failed American Foreign Diplomacy (ahem I mean war games) and the amount of goodwill towards America from other countries, if Barack Obama becomes President, can only be good for the psyche of all the Americans that are ashamed of George W Bush.

I want to stop hating America as I love the country and its people.

I cannot have a personal opinion about Hillary because she always comes across as a polished politician and not human at all.

All I want is someone in charge of the White House who can build relationships with other countries and is not afraid to use diplomacy. I'm in New Zealand, far away from the rest of the world, but if America fucks up we all feel it.

if a dem will ever win in a hu match its now. its been a long while since a dem has won without being luckier than the gop. people hate gop more now than ever. i dont think that obama will bring out much of the racist vote against him since i bet racists already vote, but he will bring out some minority and youth vote.

the biggest problem imo is hrc just not giving it to him. this is wasted time, and the dems need it to win. it could be lost kinda easily if hrc takes this to august since a lot of obama strength will come from spending and campaigning.

mccain isn't going to gain many votes, yet obama can. i will be very angry if mccain gets it. im not dem, rp was my main man, but i do understand that balance is key and we are in desperate need of a dem in now, especially one that will end the war and further bed down the religious right

Ron paul isn't running cause he would have to give up his seat in congress then. He hasn't dropped out of the republican race yet though and his supporters will most definitely stir alot of things up at the GOP national convention.
The dems will most certainly take this election. By the end of this year the US economy will be in very bad shape and that and Iraq will be the main topics.

I think you need to be careful about bandying around terms like "far left wing". Perhaps you might want to consider some of history's most famous far left-wingers, like Stalin, Hitler, and Mussolini. the election was rigged, there remain tens of thousands of uncounted votes. Why? The recount was stalled until it was not possible to complete it by the deadline. Then it was ruled that the votes could indeed be counted, but guess what? The deadline has passed, so too bad. How high up did this election fraud go? Its hard to say, but it certainly doesnt help that it took place in the state that GWB's brother governs.

first off, there were a few reasons gore lost that election. The main reason was a horrible campaign strategy where he distanced himself from President clinton and his glorious economic record over his 8 years in office. when it came right down to it, noone cared about anything else since they were all getting rich.

even with this horrid strategic blunder, he was still in good enough shape to pull it out, until he ran into florida and it's corrupt officials, one of which shortly after calling a halt to the recount process got a sweet job in the Bush government. hmmm.

On to the second topic, everyone always says that the GOP is for lower taxes and smaller government, and they are conservative so they must be for fiscally conservative policies. But that is clearly not the case. The last two times that a republican president has been in power, after 8 years the economy has been in the shitter. this is not a coincidence. their policy of reducing taxes on the ultra rich and the corporations, while ballooning government spending on useless and needless things destroys the economy.

their policies of removing regulations on corporations while removing freedoms from individuals is bad for society. they are only in favour of lower taxes on them and their buddies, and only in favour of more rights and freedoms for them and their buddies, not for the average citizen.

You're right that it shouldn't matter but given black history in the USA it definitely does matter, to blacks. Before Obama's nomination, many blacks thought electing a black president was impossible in their lifetimes. Every white boy in America grew up believing that it was a least possible for them to become President one day. The same can not be said for every black boy, or every girl for that matter, black or white. Read some black columnists before you call BS, Lukie.

What is absolutely shocking to me is that this guy has gotten the nomination, and no one knows anything about his stance on any of the issues. He has excelled at using lots of words to say absolutely *nothing*. He says "You're wrong, but I have nothing better" and it sells. Its brilliant.

None of his supporters know shit about him either. He's not pro-gay marriage. "Gays should not face discrimination but should not marry." (Oct 2004) but also says [same thing McCain says, by the way "Leave gay marriage to the states. (Jan 2007)"] Obama then says
Marriage not a human right (Oct 2004) [so therefore we can deny it to a certain class of people if we want]

Look, I think this election hinges on two things and not much else.

1) War on Iraq. Stay or go. I say stay, because going will turn the place into a terrorist haven.

2) Universal health care. Yes or no? No because upping the SHIT out of taxes right now and taking money out of the economy for something like this when the economy hinges on recession and people just got fucked in the ass by the realestate fuckup (and dont you believe for a second they wont increase taxes on gasoline because they sure as fucking will) is fucking stupid.

Everything else is minor shit. Gays wanna get married? Well shitty example because neither McCain nor Obama want them to. So... Want an abortion? Oh shitty example, they both think it should be up to the states.. So... Immigration? Well theres one. McCain says "they can't work until they go through the process of legalization, they will not get preference in line over those who were already in the process, and we will penalize companies that hire illegals" and Obama says.. "CHANGE!"

So yeah. Everything else is minor shit. Iraq. Healthcare. Those are the big decisions. People want you to consider a whole bunch of minor shit to distract you from the real big shit.

I firmly believe McCain can get Iraq under control. You will get no argument from me that Iraq has been a huge colossal fuck up for a long fucking time. But McCain not just a war vet (not to discount his service but its just not that important to the presidency) but he was commander in charge of a significant part of the military, he understands military expenditures, understands military tactics, understands what needs to be done. Obama has none of that, has very little experience in office, and has shown time and time again that the people he surrounds himself as advisors are terrible terrible choices. And then we want to let him pick some supreme court justices, appoint the secretary of defense, appoint the secretary of state, etc etc. It just seems stupid.

I doubt you could find a single person on this planet that loves this country more than John McCain. He's given his entire life to civil service, and its not like he was doing it to be on TV or to get speaking engagements or just to be in the public eye like so many politicians. This guy is different. He's serving because he wants to serve, because he thinks its the right thing to do, and he's always been like that.

If theres one guy I would put my trust in for the presidency, its John McCain.

Alright some chicks threw an "anything but clothes party". Myself and one of my best friends came in jeans and a tshirt. We were not allowed in until we found something else. Someone gave us trashbags so what the hell, we put 'em on.

Fast forward five hours of drunken revelry. I don't actually remember this part, but apparently someone brought out a camera and we started to convince these two smoking hot chicks in lingerie (i guess that doesnt count as clothes?) to make out. They said "we'll only do something lesbian if you guys do something gay" and so we went for the man hug.

We were duly rewarded. I look like fucking shit. Kinda like I was I dunno, trashed.

I don't get why anyone would be against universal health care. We have it up here in Canada, and we are not taxed to death by any means.

Instead of raising income tax rates, all they have to do is increase the tax on luxury items such as alcohol and tobacco. Just think of how much money the government could raise if they taxed those two things at 100%.
