In HoH, Dan made several references to this scenario and obv didn't think it was good. How does this situ differ from any other where 2 players are sat next to each other?

It differs when both players are aware of blind stealing, because the BB is going to suspect the SB of stealing, and the SB may or may not be aware that BB is aware of his stealitude.Quote:

When it gets down to BvB, it's closer to a HU match where ranges are wider. Both players think the other is fulla crap. Players unaware of blind stealing will probably just play it like any other hand though, so it's dangerous to auto-assign wide ranges under the assumption that your opponent is stealing or aware of your potential for stealing.
Dozer got it exactly right. Don't let this discourage you though. Blind on blind and stealing is not so scary at the peewee stakes.
I love having a really tight player directly to my left at micros as it is very profitable.
If hud says they fold to steal 90% of the time and the blinds are .50/1, you get the $1.50 9 times out of 10, if he plays back and you fold 1 out of ten you lose the $1 investment.
9x1.50= $13.50
1x1= $1
You make $12.50 every 10 times you raise this guy.
If you only raised with your normal range here you are giving up a lot of $ over time. Sure he may figure out fast what you are doing if he is paying attention, but with all the nit regs out there play 20 million tables at once, it won't happen often enough to make it not profitable.
At the same time, I 3-bet the small blind every time with 22+, Q8s+ unless he is a complete nit. This is also a profitable play. Remember, you have position on the sb as the bb.

When you raise does he call or fold? does he reraise?
If your the SB and you raise and they fold most of the time guess what you should be doing?
When your the BB you have position on the SB now so use it!
