100NL - Low PP on dry board

Villain is a 12/8/3 reg who seems to be noticing that I'm running around 40/30 on this table (4-tabling with a good run of cards) and is adjusting by calling preflop more often. A few hands recently I've taken it down with a cbet, and I've never been forced to play beyond the turn without a strong hand.

My brain started hurting before I could come up with a plan other than folding... given history and weak raise, is there a better play here?

Also, should I have just not cbet here? And if I do that, what's the plan if he a)bets, b)checks behind and a blank turn comes?

When people are making reasonable adjustments to a very open game, you're going to have to adjust back. A couple pretty basic ones is to tighten back up pre-flop and just accept that you're going to have to check/fold some flops out of position when tighter opponents who aren't giving up easy call you (later on you can raise pre-flop then check/raise the flop to put them back in line and give them something else to chew on.) They probably have a better hand and they have position so that initiative bullshit doesn't apply. It's all fine and dandy to play nitty poker for a while after building up a bunch of mistrust.

...or if you're really sick you can start double dog daring them. Fire more 2nd and 3rd barrels, 3-bet bruff back, etc. It certainly is fun if you like to gamb00l.

All that said, you probably just ran into a hand or three with maybe a bluff thrown in.

Agreed that that's a good board to 2barrel on, esp vs passive opponents who don't raise draws. This time we got raised.

I think my mistake was in betting - this should be a c/f or c/c.

EDIT: wait, good 2barrel board + should have checked = does not compute. Whatever, TBH I think I can take just about any line except b/3b on this flop.

clarify?

bet-fold and check-fold flop are both good lines here. If you've been aggro and villain is adjusting, then checking flop could scare him into checking behind, check fold sets you up for check-call, c-r turn all-in later
