Help me beat 100NL! (3 hands, 2 deep and 1 basic)

In this hand we are 225bb deep. The reason for 3 betting is that he has to fold a lot of his hands being out of position. He just sat down 7 hands ago so I want him to know he will not be able to raise too lightly out of the cut off.

Is this a good spot to barrel? My reasoning is that he should 4 bet and try to get AA and KK in preflop. It looks like he could have QQ with a club. A reason not to barrel here is that he might not be willing to 4 bet AK this deep with so little history and chose to play it out of position.



Villain in this hand is 27/25/4. Effective stack sizes are 200. He has been very aggressive when folded to but this is the first time we have been able to be in a blind on blind confrontation because a seat was just vacanted behind me. His attempt to steal is 40.7

When he bets the turn I really think he tends to have a hand, this would be a pretty bad card to double barrel with. I think because of this I should be more inclined to call. How does the 4 card straight on the board affect the strength of my draw? It will defiantly make it harder to get paid if I do hit the straight but my draw is to the highest straight which is advantageous.



Villain in this hand is pretty nitty. At the time he was 12/8 over 50 hands. Stack sizes are 100bb.

I decided to call with JJ because he is so nitty. I am not sure what his double barreling range is but I tend to lean towards not much because of his stats. At the same time my hand is way underrepped. Should I call this and c/f river?

hand 1: i think another barrel would probably be considered bad spew as he can have ak,jj, aj/aq with club that wont fold to another barrel in my opinion. However there are several medium pairs including qq/1010 thatll likely fold to 1 more bullet but id still just give up and check it down unless you spike a q on river.

hand 2: id just call the turn,i cant see himfolding sets/ 2 pair to a turn raise and you have good odds to call and see if you can hit your hand.

hand 3: id just call turn and check fold a non j river if he bets strongly again.

1 - when firing a 2nd barrel, the point is to use your FE to win the pot. So, the best 2 bar cards are scare cards, like an A, K, or a flush card. Here, the card doesn't increase your FE. He isn't folding anything he called you on the flop with so I take a free card always.

This is basically true unless he is calling the flop with draw expecting me not to barrel the turn too much. When the turn bricks the equity of his hand drops dramatically. If he floated with the Ac (something like Ac7x, or Ac2x) I think he will fold the turn to another bet.

hand 1: i think i would check behind the flop alot here. ive been really focusing on not continueing in 3bet pots without atleast some equity. if we check the flop here and he checks the turn then i likely fire a ~1/2 pot bet after picking up the gutshot and him showing no interest.

if your goal is to show him your not fucking around then you need to not show this hand down though or else that plans shot.

hand 2: since you just called the flop, i dont see whey we would do anything besides that here. i would 3x the flop and go nuts on the turn though myself.

hand 3: i still might 3bet pre here just because of the shitty spot it puts you in as seen in the hand. as played i call turn and fold to a decent sized river bet also, but im not sure thats such a great plan really. we may just save the 8bbs here and fold if we think hes firing most rivers.

ok ill try to make it really simple

hand 1 ... fold preflop. you dont need to establish any kind of aggressive image, your opponents arent perceptive enough to understand this, you should just be furthering your understanding of fundamentals. u shouldnt be wasting your time doing this crap til you become a real master at it. it necessitates a strong fundamental background which u just dont have yet if you dont know what to do on this turn. particularly this deep.

hand 2 ... raise flop ... you picked up 2nd NFD, an overcard, and some backdoor straight draws. You called preflop cuz u were expecting him to steal ... why would u want to try to float w/ a hand that has so much equity on the flop? you want more money going in when your equity is good, in which case you can buy yourself a free river card, as well as build a pot in case you hit your hand, or give yourself the best opportunity to take down the pot. it sucks to miss your draw on the turn, then be faced w/ the decision to check behind or bet when u could get checkraised and be forced to fold, or just end up getting called down by a hand u coulda pushed out earlier. like i said, dont think too much, u have equity, so raise.

hand 3 ... call turn, call river .... your hand is soooo underepped. u may be behind more often than not, but if u play this hand so passively, u r opening yourself up to making huge mistakes in future hands against this player. im about to go to bed and im just not gonna try to get into why right now, send me an im tomorrow and i can explain.
