I think the MSN client is probably a better program, but I use AIM exlusively mainly because that's what everybody always used when I was in school, and a lot of people I know still use it. Can't say the same for MSN.
Aim, but get pidgin and use both.

Trillian FTW. I have friends and family on both so I need this to not run them. MSN isn't bad though compared to AIM but why run either when oone program (trillian, pidgin) run both
