#1 I usually just donk out on flops this wet. A lot of his range caught something, that he might not bet himself, but will call a bet with. Get the money in before an action killer peels off. As played donk the turn. Looks strong, but we can´t afford giving a free river.

#2 Bet the flop yo, just call river. He´s so passive that he´s never raising anything less than a queen

#3 Depending on his flop tendencies I elect to fold or call and b/f one more street

#4 c/f flop. Vs such a tight opening range (if it was a larger sample) I´ve been considering folding pre recently

#1 If you check the flop, you must bet like full pot on turn when one of his most likely holdings pops up and a bazillion draws out there.. but flop so draw heavy I usually bet this


#2 your river bet is too big to get value from weaker hands... a basic bet sizing tell where someone has a straight with a bet like that 90% of the time, especially at 50NL. I'd rather bet like $4 and get some crying calls

I do like the flop check though

#3 reads on how he has played other big hands would be useful, or if he has c/f'd 3bet pots at the table vs. other players before.

#4 I'd rather bet fold turn than check call

but i'd rather not 3bet a player with such a tight opening range

1 - lead flop

2 - check flop seems good

3 - a fold isnt bad since he is so nitty. if we call we always fold to hsi turn bet and he will always turn bet.

4 - call preflop

1) I forgot to mention my thought process, so you guys could comment on that.
First of all, I agree on leading flop. I think I wasn't really paying attention or something, because leading would be my standard here.

Second, on the turn I figured villains betting range is quite a lot wider than his calling range. Also, if I'm c/ring turn my thinking was that I would get called by a lot of aces (and draws ofcourse) because my line looks weird...and it seems like I'm always getting called when I do a similar weird thing with a draw.

2) Fwiw I prefer my flop check because of the implieds of a K turn vs villains Q's.
But I'm often not confident in the lines I take on draw heavy flops, so comments are welcome.

3) Knowing the stats we have on villain and assuming the tendancies that that type of player have, is there reason to take another flop line?

4) Yeah I agree on calling. At the time I think I didn't want his stats to weigh too much into my decision because of the samplesize and 3betting AK is almost never a (big) mistake.

Man if were losing hand 2 then pay him his money.

I prefer to turn my AK into a bluff on the flop against tight openers.

I really don't like 3-betting in hand #4 against this guy.

one point minisim - 3betting AK in the wrong spots can be a pretty big mistake imo

depending on the opponents, you may chase the guy who will call down 3 streets with Ax or chase draws. If you're up against players who show up with premiums only in 3bet pots, you are burning money when you whiff and missing their cbet if you didn't 3bet when you hit and they fold their JJ/QQ on a K high flop or dump it on the turn when they may continue as the aggressor

vs. opponents who call 3bets with a wider range of hands, I 3bet AK all day. Just because you have AK or AQs doesn't mean you have to 3bet. Sometimes you can get fantastic value by mixing it up in good spots by flatting them PF. The same can be said for JJ vs. a loose opener who will play a lot of high cardX hands and doesn't like to fold flop/turn even when they've paired up their smaller card. You can also raise flops you missed and barrel turns and often suck out by the river against more passive opponents who won't follow when heat is on w/ AK.

Play their range more and how you can maximize vs. their range. Especially if you've been seen 3betting more than others at the table, flatting AK can get you great value in good spots.
