Ace high hero call

Villain is 30/27/3.7 over 200 hands. Pretty spewy and aggro but not very good. I nearly timed out on the flop because I had too many tables open and that's why there's no cbet.

what was the timing of the river shove?

Em average I guess I definitely didn't notice that it was especially fast or slow.

Is it more likely to be a good hand if he takes ages or acts fast?

I feel like I'd more likely call if he insta bombed river. he'd probably have to think about sizing to some extent if he had a good value hand on the river.

No, this is bad. It's a threebet pot where he raised UTG so there's just not a lot of bluffs he's showing up with. Also, one of the bluffs he can have is AQ. I mean my gut says he bets the flop with 66/77 so I guess he's only really repping TT/89s, but I feel like your going to see something you never thought of for value sometimes.

On the same thought you should probably check twice sometimes the flop and turn with KK/77/66 versus said player since your range is so weak. If you had any sort of pair id like calling down a lot more, some % of the time, since your range is clearly so weak.

I definitely agree with this. I honestly hate making A-high hero calls, just because of people's tendency to turn weak pairs into bluffs and bluffy lines.

I mean once you c/c turn, even if he somehow had 6x,7x, he probably figures he's not ahead vs your probably JJ/QQ type hand and might turn those into bluffs as well.

he is def shoving KQ+ here for value... also I've been seeing more and more flats of AK in pos these days to 3 bets so I don't think his range is nearly as polarized as might seem

Of course he's def shoving KQ for value. He's also def betting the flop with KQ for value. And this guy is betting all his Kx on the flop for that matter imo.

I just dont tend to make a lot of hero calls when opps range is balanced. Your going to see bluffs sometimes but I don't think enough of the time, because he is turning something like 22-55 or AQ into a bluff too sometimes. I also am not liking his river bet sizing as a bluff, everytime i see someone make a small overshove it always seems like the nuts.

I dunno if I agree with this. I really don;t think that too many players are turning paired hands into bluff like you describe. Maybe some retarded 1 street stab but not a multi-street bluff from a hand with showdown value. It's obviously just a difference of perception but I think it's the very fact that I don't see this much (and hence I feel his range is polarized) that made me call here.

I too think his range is polarized here, and he v. rarely shows up with 22-55, imo

I just don't think we're good often enough to justify calling here, although it's fine to call once in a while if feel+timing seem right

I think his range is polarized, with JJ/QQ here your just not going to see someone use this bet size, but idk i mean its not incredibly likely he turns 55-22/AQ into a bluff but in close situations you have to take that into consideration.
