In an effort to further help us feeshes, maybe we should have a deffinate Q & A thread for new commers, and sticky. I was just thinking we post some stuff here as suggestions, not as the actual thread obviously. Instead of trying to explain I'll just give a few examples.(remember these are just my feesh answers, please critique(sp?) )


Q: Can I fold KK pre-flop?

Q: When do I move up(stakes)?

A: LFDO!!! (this isn't a plug, I just couln't think of a third.)


ANYWAY, just something to think about. Maybe it's redundant. IDKI'MAFEESH

BTW: This isn't supposed to act as some quick-fix solve all for fishy leaks, just as a refference for some of the naturally repeated questions.

Ohh yeah, my third/fourth was going to be about when to leave a table, and when to end your session.

4. I can't beat these fkn donks at 2-10nl what the hell am I doing wrong to get sucked out on all the time?

A. Nothing keep playing standard ABC pokah and get your monies in good and things will turn in the right direction.

Q: I've heard some of these poker sites are rigged to create big pots. Is there any truth to this whatsoever?

A: No. (maybe a link to some previous threads here)

yeah there's an FAQ in the announcements of the forum, but it's pretty old and should be updated. This is a good way to start!

A: Do not play both! Learn one, and become good at it, then learn the other.

But seriously, we have that one at least once a month: Villain is (insert donkstats here) over 100 hands - should I fold?

I almost folded KK pf today at 10nl, guy was running 10/5 and hadnt seen him 3bet in over 100 hands and he5bet shoved my 4bet, and I stacked him when I hit a K on flop vs AA.

So I think you can fold KK even at Micros, but only against probably 1% of villains.

I would raise KK and call off small stacks. Big stack on the bubble could minraise any 2 every hand. No reason not to try to bust the bubble yourself with KK if the opportunity presents itself.

If you have enough to blind yourself down for another two hours and there are 10% left before you're ITM, anything but sitting out would be a waste of time and energy imo. You are already guaranteed a seat, unless they defy all chances and manage to redistribute the chips in such a way that they all make it long enough to survive you.
The risk of getting yourself involved in any pot, even as a 4:1 favorite is not worth it because YOU HAVE NOTHING TO GAIN.

I'm sure you can put this in an easy formula based on prize to get ITM according to general expectation/stack and see how good your chances actually are. The one thing you can probably do that is profitable is to stall if there's no hand-for-hand.

I had 5K chips, the huge stack had 10K chips, like 3 shorties had under a thousand
there were 7 of us, 6 received the seat

I actually thought 3 received a seat, so I called with AA
if I knew that we were waiting for ONE person to bust I wouldn't bother
I got confused because it was a 20 person sattelite so 6 cashed and I was playing some different ones at the time

AA is far too valuable to just let it sit.. No matter what situation you're in at a tournament.

We did the math, must have been about a year ago, and AA is the only hand that even if all 10 people at the table are all in, that AA is the mathematical favorite to win the hand 100% of the time. That's just too good to pass up

I beat the guy's JJ and we pretty much switched stacks, I became the 10K stack and he became the 5K stack
and then I cashed in the next like orbit since the blinds were xbox hueg

advanced play: steal blinds from the shortest stacks on the table as long as no one with a decent stack can call you

Any link? I would like to read the theory behind that. I'm sure it is the favourite 100% of the time, but doesn't your chances to win drop fairly significantly the more people are involved in the hand?

For example, if you are up against 9 other hands, all suited connectors or other pocket pairs would your chances to win not be severely diminished?

or min raise because everyone is in that same mind set. Adjust to the table, baby. Just because you have KK doesn't mean you have to stack off with KK

No, there's a point where your-stack in relation to the blinds you'll have to pay/hr and the level of the average stack means that you have literally already won. There is no way you'll blind yourself to death before the tournament is over. Every chip you voluntarily put into the pot is risking you a sure finish ITM. This only makes sense in SATELLITES (for the third time now) where every place ITM is rewarded the same amount of cash / ticket. - You know... a sattelite so to speak.
Did i mention I was talking about Satellites?

So this rather uncommon situation occurs in what kind of tournament? :p

thumbs up, that's awesome. I never said I was going to risk a lot of chips with KK. Just that I was going to steal the blinds. And if a shorty pushes, Ill snap him off and bust the bubble.

I understand the idea of "DONT RISK YOUVE ALREADY WON" but I've got this set of testicles that says I'm not folding KK preflop and this big old brain which will verify that this decision will not cost me my tourny.

If I raise and you are the other big stack with AA, you're going to fold. Because you dont want to risk your tourny life.

If I raise and you're a shorty giving me 2 or 3 to 1 with KK to bust the bubble for a fifth of my stack, fist pump.

If I minraise and 2 bigstacks shove over, I'll snap fold KK. But those blinds are valueable so that I can continue to run over the table

this is correct, I WILL blind steal from shorties trying to burst the bubble since I can afford to double a few shorties in my position and still cash
