OK, how did I do in the first hand? I'd only played with villain for one orbit. He'd played two hands and not done anything out of the ordinary. I really have no idea whether I played it too weak, strong or whatever.

this is pretty butchered. if you are going to raise your hand is far too strong to fold. i would probably just flat though. see what he does on the turn, but im probably getting it in.

i definitely call the flop. you have the Q of spades, which takes out a lot of his drawing combo's he could be doing this with. So I'm thinking he's probably doing this for value. Problem is we have no info on the player as to what he considers value (TPTK perhaps or can he do this with AKs?) As played we have half our stack in and basically committing ourselves and we are not very happy about calling the allin. Since we have no info on this player we dont know his range exactely, but I doubt were doing very well against any realistic allin range here, but probably well enough to call now based on pot odds.

Ok now his range may well be, heres a fairly tight but standard range imo for opp willing to just ship flop.

We are 43% to win vs this range

PLugging that into our calc

Because of position, he may think you are stealing and he is repopping with a slightly wider range of hands...He may think you are making a play and could possibly do this with TT/88. My guess is AsKs or AJ, possibly KK.

The second hand is either JT or two clubs.

Goat; AQs and AJs are impossible if you're referring to spade suit only (which I believe you are). also 99 might be in his range.

Even though I put AsQs in when we have Qs it doesnt change the calc since pokerstove will discount the holding since its duplicated.

If we add in 99 into opp range then our equity is 40.5% and obv still a call.

it's even more clearly a call then I thought, now that I see the odds you get. Do you agree on calling flop > raising?

raise folding is terrible, raise calling is probably too bold with no history. that leaves calling or folding on the flop; calling is gonna be better without any reads.

so are we calling any turn shove then besides A or K then nuts?

hand 1 - ugh... nooo. Raise/folding here makes me feel sick. I agree with nuts that raise/call is good with history, and otherwise to just flat and re-eval turn. If he's the type that would stack with KJ/AJ here or something, we kinda gotta go with it.

Hand 2 - River is fine. If this hand is deeper, I might even just flat the river raise.

Thanks guys. Compared to you, I think I was giving him too tight a range for three-betting from the big blind, and then shoving on the flop. That probably says something about my own game.

As for hand two, yeah, I think I misread my hand often enough for the 80 cent call to be +EV :P
