I don't mean to denegrate spenda or will in anyway; I think they'll do a fine job... and I realize spoon is kind of crazy... but i think he should've been given the opportunity to mod BC (or at the very least co-mod, whatever that entails).

spoon has not been overlooked, believe me. I PM'd spoon before the new BC mods were announced publicly. Without getting into the private details of why he is not a moderator yet, I'll just say that we're on good terms and all is cool.

I've learned more about poker from Spoon and Spenda than any other 10 dudes at FTR (though most of what I've learned from Spenda is from watching his grinder school vids, fwiw), so I certainly enjoy seeing Spenda mod the BC. And will's great. So nh to them.
But spoon definitely deserves a mod-ship (or w/e you call it). His posts over the past year-and-a-half have been amazing with relevant poker advice, detailed responses to all the noobs, and continual "professor style" OP's in the BC. I must have joined FTR like 2 weeks after he took down the infamous "avatar pic," still would like to know about that one. Sure, he's crazy, but he knows poker and is willing to share. Perfect for a mod, imo.

Okay I think tryouts are over for BC mod and it's pretty clear who has performed the best. Too bad choosing a BC mod is so much more complicated than choosing who starts in middle school sports.

Spoon, I think you have a misunderstanding of what is actually going on, not only here but at grinderschool. You are overestimating the benefits of both jobs, financially or anything else.

I'm not sure what your problem exactly is or why you seem to want to sabotage any idea/thought/post that comes from moderators lately but all you are to me in a mild annoyance. FWIW Spoon, if your pissed, you should be pissed at the guys who selects the mods, not the Mods themselves. Eric, Tyson and Xianti are the business around here not us. They decide how, why and when they want their name, FTR, to be used or represented. I am pretty sure spoon, that it is exactly what Ragnar has said that has kept you back from getting exactly what it is you want and have probably even been told by them that this is the case. Spenda and Will have been the Mods for what, a month, and your already turning on them. You and Spenda have done a ton for beginners and now he's your problem? Many people had reat things to say about you including spenda when the conversation came up in the mod forum, but every post is also refuted with but he's only been good for the last month.
Dude, I like you alot, I can honestly tell you that your wrong here and just hurting any chance you have of ever getting this job, you can come back with how much you don't care but we all know you do, and so does FTR and it's admins. There is not one person, again including spenda, that doesn't think your an almost perfect person for the modship. But these little outbursts either here or some of the things that have posted in the past are something that just cannot be done when you are a mod, and that is what the ADMINS fear. Spenda and ellipsesjeff started being dicks in my thread about my bet with euphoricism, so don't try to peg that on me. "Turning" on Spenda has nothing to do with him being a moderator.
As for "turning" on Will, where do you get that? The only thing I give Will hell for is our $50 bet on the outcome of the election (which I won, what now biatch).
So let's drop the "turning" verbage since that implies I have something against the moderators as a whole which is clearly untrue.
Moreover, there's nothing to be right or wrong about. Everything I've claimed about Spenda has been either confirmed by multiple people or based on a direct quote from him.
What I don't care about is the clusterfuck that every conversation about the Beginner's Circle turns into. There have been suggestions that I'm after money, "status", and God knows what else.
What I do care about is helping people, but I can be turned off from that when it's shown over and over again that I'm unwanted. That's the major reason I have periods of a month or so at a time that I'm only replying in BC and not posting 1000+ word commentaries about various topics.
Spenda is the only person who has ever argued with me about posting in the Beginner's Circle. That is, he's the only person who has ever suggested that I should not care about the newbies and that I shouldn't post as much as I do in the Beginner's Circle because it doesn't make sense to make the games harder. That's what makes it even more fucked up.
This thread kills me. I have learned TONS from Jyms, Spenda, and Spoon. It sucks as an outsider to the discussion to see great guys who've helped me tons disagreeing like this.

Spenda, nice job so far as BC mod (and will, too, though he's staying clear of this thread). I have and continue to appreciate your poker insights.
Jyms, That was a helluva post. Just about says it all, imo.
Xianti and others who "run" FTR, I just gotta say that this site has provided 99% of the improvements in my game, 99.9% of the inspiration I need to work hard, and 99.99% of the fun I have being a poker player. I love the BC and other content forums, the whole site. Great job, and keep up the work.
I'm disappointed in you, spoon. Not mad. Just disappointed. I was hoping you had moved beyond these tirades. I thought we had an understanding and that you were cool with it. You've now taken a giant step back to spoon circa 2 years ago, as far as I can tell.
And, fwiw, you are the only one in the history of FTR that has actively and very publicly campaigned to be a moderator. That's not how things work. I've humored it so far, as I thought it was kinda funny -- not in a condescending way, but I had seen it as tongue-in-cheek campaigning where you were only half-serious. Now, it's painfully obvious you are dead serious and trying to force my hand in some way. Again, that is not how things work.
Lastly, I honestly don't understand what the big deal is in regards to being a moderator. It wouldn't change much other than you have to move spam to the recycle bin and you have access to the moderators lounge where we discuss mundane administrative crap about spammers and questionable posts. Is that glamorous? Is having a moderator title such a status symbol? Who are you trying to impress?
Your contributions to BC are welcome and appreciated. What does that have to do with being a moderator? You think being a moderator is a reward? Do you think the other moderators JUMPED at the chance to be moderators? That's not the case. I've been turned down by plenty of people I've approached in the past because they see it for what it is -- it's a chore. I'm just fortunate that some have decided to help out because they want to give back -- NOT because they feel they are OWED some silly notion of status because of what they've contributed.
Honestly, I'd like to know WHY you want to be a moderator so badly.
After seeing how your demeanor and behavior over this whole thing has gone from funny to unpleasant to confrontational and heading to a rebellion, I'm not sure you should have the capabilities to edit/move/delete anyone's posts at will.
